So many books, so little time...
This is the must have for the Stephen Colbert fan. You must not only buy this audio book, but also the hardback copy. The proceeds are going to a charity.
What could be better, Tom Hanks reading the heart and soul of Stephen Colbert.
Lovely children's story.
Perhaps he will write a follow up book 50 Shades of a Grey Pole by Stephen Colbert. Now that would be an interesting follow-up book.
Buy this book!
Rating scale: 5=Loved it, 4=Liked it, 3=Ok, 2=Disappointed, 1=Hated it. I look for well developed characters, compelling stories.
This was a nice little story and I smiled at the end when the pole learned his true purpose. I'm happy too that the proceeds go to a good cause. I was able to download the PDF pictures which did make it more enjoyable.
Yes, it's light, funny, but really only get it if you are obsessed with Colbert.
The banter between the two
Cool that they give all proceeds to american GI vets.
I was hoping it would be funny. I'm not a Stephen Colbert fan or hater. I just saw the title and thought it would have to be funny, then add narration by Tom Hanks. I was disappointed.
Love listening to audio books at work or on the road.
Hilarious, awesome. short
The banter with Tom and Stephen.
Stephen Colbert of course
I would like to see a 4 min book turned into a movie... That could be fun.
I love a good book...
Steven and Tom nailed this one. I appreciated how the money for their part of this is going to American Vets...Thanks guys!!!
My interest was peaked after seeing a video cut of Stephen Colbert with Julie Andrews - both pitching their children's books. Don't get too hung up (yes there is a pun here too) on the stripper pole - when you buy a chemical to remove paint in a bottle there is not a nude woman inside! Good books are layered with meaning. Great books mean different things to different age groups and different walks of life. And that includes books for kids. Re-read some Dr. Seuss!
I was feeling a bit foolish buying an 8 minute audiobook, but did it anyway - I'm so glad I did! I had no clue till the end the proceeds go to vets - that alone makes the book worth every penny and more. Made my day!
THis is not a kids book, even though it is listed as such. I played it for my 4th grade classroom and the guy who is a pole tried being " a strippers pole, but couldn't stand the grind"
