Where is the extra star button for all my love for this book? Andy is self-depreciating, funny, witty, insightful and adorable. Hearing it in his own voice was just classic. He is hilarious!! He picked out just enough of the right stories and highlights from his life to keep you enthralled, while keeping you laughing out loud. I loved hearing about the blunders as much as all his successes. I really feel I got a taste of what it's like to be a TV producer. Andy, if you're reading this, know that I think I love you! I honestly am kind of waiting for your next book! In the meantime, this one will be recommended to everyone I know!
Mindless, Easy, Interesting
I'd compare this to Tori Spelling's Autobiographies, very similar.
Not sure. It is very annoying the way he lingers and emphasizes the letter "L". So much so that I wish I had just read this book. If he stopped doing that, then yes. He is great at narrating, and has a great voice.
I loved whend Andy "came out" and got so much support and love.
I loved this book! I wanted to listen to it again and I for sure will. I am also a huge fan of Andy and the Real Housewives franchise, so it was so nice to get to know him better. I laughed a lot listening to this book. And, the fact that Andy narrated it himself was awesome!!!
If you love Cohen's show on Bravo then you'll love this book. That same fun loving personality comes across when he reads. Some part of his story can get too drawn out but for the most part he is very entertaining. Maybe a funny notch below but if you like Tina Fey's Bossypants you will enjoy this book. I thought it was funnier than any of Chelsea Handler's books. Everyone is different so I suggest you listen to the sample, it's pretty indicative of the rest of the feel of the book.
I am a fan of books by funny people and Andy Cohen doesn't disappoint. It really enjoyed hearing his story of getting in the "biz". They way he depicts his mother is great! And the pranks he pulled on his parents really made me laugh!
His own voice!
I love that he shares so much of himself and his feelings -- I could feel the same feelings as he shared them.
It mostly made me laugh out loud -- he's hilarious!
I really appreciate that he shared so much of himself and allowed himself to be vulnerable. Love that in a man!
Oh Andy you are the best. I loved it!! Such a great coming of age story that anyone can relate to...
Entertaining, Hysterical, Lovehim!
Evelyn! She's a kick, I love how Andy talks about her. I got the feeling they have a genuine love between them and beautiful acceptance of each others quirks.
He is really speaking to the listener, not just reading words on a page. The whole thing, from start to finish was wonderfully amusing.
I laughed regularly throughout the book. But the most surprising thing was how much I now love Andy Cohen. I don't know what made me buy this book because I've never been a fan of his. I only saw WWHN (or whatever his show is called) a few times, and quite frankly, what I knew of him I didn't like. So I don't know why I bought the book. HOWEVER, I am glad I did and I am now a huge fan of Andy's. I want to be one of his "besties".
An absolute MUST READ or HEAR.Oh - and poor Jill Zarin....so desperately trying to get attention with the whole dog thing. That really surprised me considering she's got a wonderful family (love her husband). I loved getting all the behind the scenes stuff that only Andy could tell.
What I liked most about talkative was the performance. Andy Cohen did a really good job of keeping his book a light and easy listen. I also really enjoyed that he threw in extra material that was not in the book and even made special reference to his listening audience. What I liked the least was not knowing what he was talking about with respect to certain aspects of his life. I am not in the know about all the real house wives series and he goes on in detail about them for a good quarter of the book, so that kind of stunk.
