The story is amazing. It's an incredible book about what can happen if the world has forgotten it's humanity. The world is divided by personality traits. It's incredible, I can't wait for the next book!
It's similar to the Hunger Games series where people are have stopped living life and accepted the life that the government has given to them until there is one person who wants more. It's a strong female role.
The end of the second book kept me at the edge of my seat, I couldn't stop listening! I'm not going to kill the surprise but it's incredible!
When her mom admitted that she was not much different than herself, she wasn't an outcast.
Can we get reminders when the next book comes out?
Yes! This story was so captivating that I am listening to it again with my nephew!
Tris and Tobias are my favorite characters they are complex, clever, and caring.
I have recommend this book as our schools next book club novel!
Along with Divergent, this is a great read for teens exploring their upcoming roles in society. (Although they don't know that, they just think it is a great read!) We had one of the most interesting teen boy's book club meetings after this was chosen. We met in a Pizza place and half the place was listening to the boy's talk about the book. One family, sitting near by, even asked to join the conversation.
The story line is fresh and moved along fast enough to keep my interest. I listened to the story on my morning and evening commute to and from work. Although it is a young adult book it was not written in a childish manner. My only disappointement is the 3rd book is not out yet to conclude the series.
I do not have a favorite character. Oddly I was drawn in more with the sub characters.
Emma'a voice is pleasant to listen to. The texture of her voice was youthful enough to convince the listener she was Triss
Really wish the 3rd book was out.
I love all kinds of books but don't really read them anymore I would rather listen to them but I will still buy the book if I love it enough to collect it.
Another good book cant wait for the final book of the series to come out to see what happens with Tris and Four I hope all ends well.
As a sequel to Divergent, this book was just ok. Divergent was a great story, leaving me wanting more, so I was eager to hear this second book. I was only slightly disappointed, and glad for the closure.
I would indeed. Emma Galvin captures the spirit of a 16 year old perfectly and her voice shifts enough to make all of the main characters very unique, each really feeling different.
Its hard not to enjoy Triss, she is much more what I always wanted Catniss from the hunger games to be, someone who responds to crisis but isn't fueled by anger and hate, she has a real purpose.
I also listened to Divergent, but that is my only other experience. Both books were wonderful to listen to.
Honestly, it seems like a cop out but I think the tag line from the book really hits it perfect. One choice can change your life.
This series really reminded me of the hunger games in its general feel, but while it has moments of brutality, the society represented here is flawed but not inherently evil like in the hunger games books. This world is a very different premise and watching both its flaws and strengths play out is a joy.
When I like something I'll let you know. If I don't, I'll let you know that too!
I resisted Audible's recommendation that I buy Divergent but did not hesitate to get Insurgent right away to continue the series. I'm anxiously awaiting the third chapter in the Tris' Trilogy, promised in fall 2013. Insurgent does a fine job of moving the story and Tris' relationship with 4 forward. Tris never seems to stand on firm ground because many of those around her have shifting alliances or are secretly working for or against her goals. I really enjoy listening to Ms. Galvin as she ably gives Tris' voice the strength and intellect this character possesses.
It was a great story line and everything was described in detail and easy to follow. I absolutely loved the series.
Emma Galvin is my FAV narrator. I have listed to a lot of the books she has done, and would chose to listen to hears always!
Yes. Unfortunately, i could only listen 2 hours a day on the drive to and from work.
Great Book. Can't wait for the movie.
I've never read the print version.
When Four realized that Tris was telling the truth and aired the video.
