I commute for 4 hours a day 5 days a week via train, yet I am not a train employee...perhaps I should be.
As a male reader. This book is good but fraught with too much emotional inflection. At times I wanted to tell the antagonist to stop being a pathetic teenage girl and get the job done, but she is a pathetic teenage girl. So I suppose the role is played true.
I struggled through listening to Divergent and just gave up on Insurgent, thank God. The narrator is terrible. It's almost comical. I caught the tail end of the movie Divergent on TV and thought I'd try the books before I watched Insurgent. Big mistake. Skip the books. Enjoy the movies. They are much better! And do not spend your money on the audio books. The narrator ruins it. She reminds me of an extremely immature, adolescent Captain Kirk. I'm a Star Trek fan, but this narrator is constantly using fight-or-flight tones instead of actually being a human. Being human is very important to the story.
The narrator portrays the presumed attitude of the characters well. One of the best readers I've heard in over a decade of listening to audiobooks. Well done!
I'm a writer and I read like one. Just waiting for my big shot.
You get good performance and story in this audiobook. It is worth reading! I really think the voice actor does a fantastic job.
