I'm a market research executive in Newtown CT. I love to read & also fill my many hours in the car and gym listening to historical fiction.
The United States Navy Seals are among the most elite warriors on our planet. This story gives you a glimpse into the tremendous skills, resiliency and unbreakable brotherhood that makes these quiet assassins so very special. If you are a red blooded American you will laugh, get angry and even cry. If you are a left wing liberal, you should read this book so you begin to understand that these selfless men are getting killed because they are afraid to go to prison for defending our country when everyone there fighting against them is trying to kill them and hates Americas more than you could ever imagine. It describes how the liberal media in the United States has made our brave warriors look like criminals who are killing innocent women and children intentionally. Because of this fear that they always hold in the back of their minds as they engage an enemy, These incredible men have to increase the likelihood of their demise because they must wait to be fired upon first before engaging. It makes me sick and so angry. Our own media is working for our enemies and cares more about the terrorists rights then they do our own warriors including: Navy SEALs, Green Berets, Army Rangers and all of the special forces that this country depends on so dearly to keep us all safe. You all should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!!
Seen the film, and was at first apprehensive about the book. But about ten minutes in I realized the film did minor justice to Luttrell's story. Fantastic book, filled with action, humor, and heartbreak. Truly a great read well worth the money or monthly credit!
The narrator's fake Texas accent (trying to channel Marcus Luttrell's Texas roots) is distracting at first, but if you can get through the first hour or so, you either get used to it or he tones it down some). It's worth the effort because this story is absolutely spellbinding!
Really good book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was so-so but I hated the voice in the 2 book. Are for the most part is was good!
This Audio book kept me rapt up in the action and emotions of its real life characters. I dare anyone to listen to the entire story and not get emotional. To that I mean, try not to cry, getting angry, and wanting to right the wrongs from Afghanistan to our own shores! Thank You Marcus!
My favorite so far. The epilogue and credits are very good. I like how they incorporate music into dramatic parts.
