Narration was excellent besides a few early chapters sounding echoey, as if they we done in a plain room instead of a recording room. Overall a beautiful lesson and message birthed from a miracle. Some of the explanations in the beginning were long winded and too elaborate. I understand why and all... because language is limited in description for this even. It just made me feel like it was forced or unbelievable at points. (as in a description of anything that carried on as such would). I do believe this story, however. I really gained the most out of the last 1/3 to 1/2 of this book. It connected with me nicely and I am trying to be more accepting of myself and not to be as harsh. Thank you.
I am 37 years old and have been on a spiritual pursuit since I was 17. Anita's message has touched me more profoundly than ANYTHING I have ever heard. This book has without a doubt changed the trajectory of my life. Thank you Anita!
The message is love yourself and enjoy life. Will this help us avoid disease? I hope so, but I'm not sure this will work for everyone, maybe it will work for the very elevated and centered souls. I agree with her comments regarding how we attract diseases ...it's usually fear, anger, stress. She received this message for a reason and she was encouraged to pass it on but it is up to the individual to digest and absorb it. You CAN heal yourself.
Refreshing, uplifting and wonderful! Anita has an important story to tell, and I am grateful that I listened. It is a treat to have her tell her message.
I recommend this book to those who crave meaning and clarity, but especially to anyone who is ready to heal and be whole again.
and a penny for your thoughts
Anita's story is compelling for two reasons.
1) Unlike most near death stories which generally seem to be sudden (i.e. a car accident etc) and flooded with white light and images of loved ones - Anita was ravaged with cancer. Her death had been long time coming. Her organs had shut down so there is no confusion as to the miracle of her recovery, whatever the source.
2) Unlike most accounts of near death experiences, which seem to be "it felt wonderful" or "everyone I loved who had passed away was there" - Anita was able to describe and articulate what she LEARNED as well as what she experienced - and how she put it into practice resulting in life changes.
Anita's message that once we go back to the spiritual world - we know everything - hence, we don't need to spend or time on earthy trying to gain spiritual knowledge. We will know everything the moment we leave our physical bodies. We are supposed to just "be" here and now - THIS is the "show" - not the afterlife where there is no judgement. The spiritual world takes care of itself. Worry about being in our physical bodies.
yes and did
Interesting...it certainly must be amazing to have had such an experience and the writing is good, but some of the chapters make me cringe. I did find the questions about religion very interesting and thought provoking (that the afterlife is essentially areligious). But this is a women who turned down any conventional medical treatment for a treatable disease, then received chemotherapy and was cured. The medically related topics made me cringe (as a physician).
Practicing Idealist, Dabbling Realist ;)
Anita Moorjani's graceful and positive voice tells her story of how her own thoughts and the judgmental expectations of others affected her health to the point of cancer and a near-death experience. Then, understanding through her near death experience her connectedness with all, her own thoughts were also the source of a quick and miraculous healing.
Her rational explanation of her story, along with her reasoned examination and explanation of her new viewpoint is told cleanly. There is no urgency in her tale to convert anyone to believe her, only a generous sharing so that anyone who is interested can learn and take from her life lesson anything that may help in their own journey.
This was my first
after the NDE, it became so philosophical, I cannot believe that good or bad, we just become part of the universe, maybe biased, but on the practical side of things, shouldnt criminals earn something cruel imposed to them in the after life.... this is where I cannot understand the concept of Anita. On the overall, the preface or foreword is good to have acknowledged divinity, which to my mind, a higher being than just space. The foreword said Anita agrees of the divine intervention, and yet does not believe in the "theory" that sinners are sure to be punished and do gooders enter the pearly gates.... still, in the end, I still have no idea of what waits at the after life.
Absolutely! Every friend! This was the most profoundly touching spiritual book I've read, and I've read MANY. Anita's story resonated with me at a core level. Changed me at a core level. Period. Unbelievably beautiful, truly touching, I found myself crying tears of joy throughout the listen.
Anita is the star...she's the only one I'd like to hear tell her amazing story.
She is humble, authentic, wise, courageous, inspiring!
Yes, I listened to it every chance I had til it was complete
If there is one audiobook I would seriously recommend to EVERYONE, it's this one.
This is an amazing story with a poignant message. Source wants us to realize some important things and used her to relay them. She delivers. Now I return to this book time and time again to contemplate the meaning for me.
