I love Sherrilyn Kenyon I have read most of her other books and enjoy them . This is a very well written book but the description of the torture is gruesome (i love horror books and thrillers and some have had torture in them) and it really lingers with you , so if you are disturbed at all by other books I would suggest you avoid the book or skip lots of pages to avoid the descriptions and aftermath. Also I would suggest getting the book or ebook not the audio version which is what I have(harder to skip through).
What an amazing book! Darling & Zarya go through so much to get to each other, almost too much. But this is part of the league series and all the characters have endured so much to finally find happiness. Lots of humor in among the angst and love. I listened to this book while taking my (almost) daily walks. It's such a long & full book, it helped me up my distance and my pace! I'm sure my neighbors wonder why I'm laughing and crying as I walk! Great love scenes of course! I love that the league ladies are all kick-ass females and Z is no exception. So happy to see all the other league characters involved in the story. It's so nice to see them leading happy & healthy lives and prospering. The love between these disparate soles who unite to form an extended family is so heartwarming to read about it. Can't wait for Maris & Ture's story coming soon.
I thought that the first book Born of Night was the best in the series. She did not let me down with this book.
When Darling got his finger cut off.
I can't say because it would have piss me off if some would have told me about my favorite scene before I experienced it. But was at the end of the final battle. Wow
I never been on such a roller coaster. She could have writen more than one book with this story. I thought I hit the climax of the story and another one hit.
Would recommend this book, because it was exciting throughout the entire book. There were no slow parts
I enjoyed the ending.
When the wedding occured between the two main characters.
Yes, it was hard to stop it when I had to do some work.
The avantage of an audio book was I could listen to it while I was on the computer and eating dinner.
Yes! Because this is a classic through and through in a wonderful action pact, heart warming, character loving romance!
I loved each one so much I pre-ordered the new book 6 coming out in hardback April 30th 2013. When it comes to Audible, I plan to get it also. Each book is just as good as the last. I hope the Author keeps writing these heart warming, action pact romance books!
So much detail to keep me interested in the things I may have missed.
How it all ties in with the complete series.
Easy to listen to and understand.
Retired USN! I enjoy movies, books, traveling and making quilts.
I really enjoy this one. Much more than books 3 and 4. Don't get me wrong I love Sherrilyn's writing.
If you're familiar with the Ichidian universe then you know that our heroes are tortured. This is especially true for Darling Cruel. He's tortured in his past as well as his present and it just breaks my heart.
If you're famliar with Kenyon, then you can figure out how it ends for our hero. Still, getting there was heart wrenching.
First let me applaud Sherrilyn Kenyon and Holter Graham on another great audio book. The story is heart wrenching at times I found myself wiping my tears away. Holter Graham is so enjoyable to listen to...one of my favorite narrators. So many life lessons in this book 'You can't change the past nor the future but you can make a difference today'. The book does include many characters from the prior books so I reccomend starting with book 1 if you are new to the series. The book is very long but I finished it very quickly...I could not stop listening to it. The love story is amazing. The cruelty Darling faced throughout his life is unimaginable however he remains a man of great character. This audio book is definitely a must hear.
Born of silence has the feel of books by Lara Adrian, J.R. Ward and Pamela Palmer as far as the alpha males who stick together. Also has the strong woman who stands by her man no matter what.
Too many to list. I loved all the one liners though.
Both...at times I found myself crying and then laughing at some of the funny one liners.
I consider them both great. There are times I like to cross stitch and I don't want to watch TV so I put in my IPod and listen to a talking book. My problem with the audible version of Born of Silence is that the Prologe is missing in totality. I have downloaded it twice and it is missing. I love this book, but would have really enjoyed hearing the very first part.
