Someone who wants to live vicariously through someone else's sex life.
If only she had developed the characters instead of having one sex scene after the other to take up space. At one point I started to walk out of the room when I realized the book was still playing, then kept on going because it was just another sex scene.
I enjoyed the interaction when the photo secession was in the pool.
All the characters were interesting and worked. They just never got to do anything.
Because I first listened to the book of how Mary and Jack Sullivan got together, at least I did get to find out what happened to Jack.
There is no plot at all.
This book might as well have been porn. it was pure sex. The Characters never had a chance to develop personalities even.
It was a decent performance.
90 percent of the sex scenes! I would have put in a plot and given the story a reason to exist.
I just could not get into this book. I like to work while I lissen and when I can't stop thinking about the work I am doing and focuse on the book...well, it becomes a long day.
HATE spoilers! Enjoy HOT, sexy books. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. Running out this type Audible-so on2 lighter romance/mystery :-(
Sure, I enjoyed it. It was not a 'heavy' read or intellectual challenge. I listened at 1.5 speed because the narrator was slow - or maybe the story was slow. It was only 6 hours long but it felt longer.
Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she's convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he?
As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he's home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is - until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love-and protect-her, but will she let him?
Chloe vows never to make the mistake of trusting a man again. Only, with every loving look Chase gives her - and every sinfully sweet caress - as the attraction between them sparks and sizzles, she can't help but wonder if she's met the only exception. And although Chase didn't realize his life was going to change forever in an instant, amazingly, he isn't the least bit interested in fighting that change. Instead, he's gearing up for a different fight altogether - for Chloe's heart.
I was not surprised by the ending.
Smooth and nice (I know, and is not a descriptive word.)
Sure, there are 6 or 7 siblings and I think there are books for the others. It's a sweet (with naughty bits) series.
The publisher has this "NOTE: Explicit language, very steamy sex scenes...and lots of emotion!"
I'll pick up the others IF they go on sale-under $6...I wouldn't use credits based on this first try.
but there was too much sex and not enough story. I think the story could have been enjoyable if there had been more depth to the characters and the listener had gotten to know them better. Also, the reader sounded like she was trying to sound sexy, while I like a narrator who becomes the characters.
I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Also steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, and fiction. I'm open to about anything
Setting: Napa Valley, California, contemporary
Genre: Steamy romance
Narration:: Eva Kaminsky did a good job with differentiating characters, especially Chase's sexy drawl.
Okay, then. It was a dark and rainy night... Chase meets Chloe as she is walking along the side of the road, away from her wrecked car. He talks her into letting him take her somewhere, and she asks him to take her to a cheap hotel. Instead, he takes her to the guest house at his brother's winery. He is a photographer and plans to do a fashion shoot at the winery for the next few days. Chloe is wary of staying there because, as Chase had already figured out, she is the victim of domestic violence.
I had a hard time with the plot, because I cannot believe in the "love at first sight" trope. I just cannot fall into the story. I can see a casual hook-up happening this fast, but within 2 days, perhaps less, Chase is thinking long-term commitment. I know it happens, because my parents married after a couple of dates, but it was not a happy marriage. I just can't stop thinking that these people need to get to know one another better. Chase and Chloe's main characteristics were defined, but it's usually the little things that cascade into marital hell, and having this at the back of my mind prevented me from enjoying the story to the fullest.
There aren't too many sex scenes, but they were pretty steamy. Definitely on the erotic side. There is one scene of relatively graphic violence, but it is not sexual in nature.
Worth the credit if you can forget about the timeline and you like a little steam with your love.
Now, I'm off to re-listen to the second in The Sullivans series.
This book reads like a compilation of letters written by sixteen year-old boys and then published in a pornographic magazine. If you are looking for a book with plenty of sex and no plot, you have found it.
No because it does not qualify as a real romance. It was incorrectly categorized.
The performance needs to less cold.
Disappointment and boredom.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
This was a good story. I liked Chase and Chloe and the story was good. This is the first story I've read by this author and based off this I may try more of her work. I'll probably read more of this series down the road.
Chloe is a good woman with some bad history. She was married to a man that treated her badly. She divorced him but once she was trying to make a life for herself, he decides to try to come after her to force her to come back to him. She runs from him and ends up driving in a storm. Due to the slippery roads she ends up in a ditch with a totaled car, not much money and no clue where to go.
Chase is a really good guy. He's a photographer and has a good life. He's part of a big family, having 5 brothers and 2 sisters, that he's close to. He doesn't date so much as have a lot of no-strings one night stands. This all changes one night when he's driving in the rain to his brother's vineyard and he ends up helping a woman that's stranded with her car totaled in a ditch.
Because of her past experiences, Chloe isn't very trusting of men so it takes Chase some convincing just to get Chloe to get in his car and out of the rain and hail from the storm. She's nervous around him but he knows right away that there's something special about her and that he has to find a way to get her to trust him and keep her in his life. Chase is a photographer and is heading to his brother's vineyard for a photo shoot that starts the next morning. During the shoot he's staying in the guest house on the property and he convinces Chloe (really leaves her little choice in the matter) to stay the night there. There's a bit of a surprise waiting for them when they get there but they get past it and Chloe decides she trusts Chase enough to stay in the guest house alone with him. There's a very strong attraction between them but Chloe is determined not to let another man in her life and tries to ignore it. There ends up being a few times when it becomes obvious just how much Chase wants Chloe but he's a total gentleman and doesn't take advantage when he could, prompting her to trust him more. She stays the night but intends to leave the next day.
The next day arrives and Chloe finds out what Chase does and gets pulled in to watching the photo shoot and getting to know the people Chase works with. She also meets his brother, Marcus, that owns the vineyard and he invites her to dinner that night (more like insists) and she ends up staying another night. After some wine her inhibitions are lowered but Chase proves to be trust worthy once again and shows her that she can trust him not to take advantage (even though she's a bit disappointed because she wants him to take advantage). This basically sets the structure for how their relationship proceeds. Chase tries to get her to give in to her attraction and to earn her trust and convince her to give him more time for them to get to know each other. Chloe is afraid to trust and thinks she's a fool to give in to her attraction, and when she does give in she tries to keep it at just sex with no true emotions involved. She's determined that to be strong she has to handle her ex on her own and is determined that she'll have to leave Chase and handle things so she can be strong. This is pretty much an insta-love situation as the whole story takes place in about a week. It's a nice story, the main conflict being Chase wanting Chloe to give them a chance and Chloe being afraid to. Chase gives her every reason to trust though as he's pretty much perfect and always seems to do and say the right thing. As the week progresses, Chloe and Chase become closer and closer and her resistance and fears are handled. There is some conflict at the end involving Chloe's ex but things do work out and Chloe and Chase end up in a nice HEA.
This was an enjoyable story. The characters are likable and the story is good overall. I found it a bit annoying that Chloe did the same thing a lot of heroines do, blame all men for the evil of one and lets that fear rule them. I guess it's somewhat understandable in her situation but a bit boring when it's the main plot device. The end gave hints to the next book (based around Marcus) which looked like it could be good and I'll probably read that one down the road. :)

"The Look of Love" by Bella Andre was truly a romantic story of Chase and Chloe. I felt this novel was a good introduction to the 'Sullivan Family' and I will be reading the rest of all twelve of this series. "The Look of Love" was a beautiful told love story of Chase Sullivan who was quite some man in that he was just that ...quite a 'sweet' man. Then there was Chloe Peterson who Chase had met on the side of the road that had some real issues that she had to deal with. Will Chase be able to help Chloe with these issues? Truly Chase believed he could help the 'Lovely Chloe' but would she want his help? This is where I say you must pick up the good read to find out how this author will bring it all out to the reader. Be ready for a lovely heartwarming story with some hot steamy encounter that will leave you saying Wow! Would I recommend? YES!
I would listen to this book again and I would recommend it too. It is a very sweet love story. The Characters and Story Lines kept me engaged throughout the entire story.
Chase was my favorite character. He truly loved Chloe.
Eva Kaminsky is an awesome narrator. I am so glad that she narrates the entire series.
I would love to have listened to this book in just one sitting.
I am currently listening (AudioBooks) to Book 7. I love this series. It is one of my favorites.
