Yes it had a great story line
When he gave her the ring in the boat house
I only listened to the audible version of all three of the books. I have not read them. After joining Audible.... I just love to put on my blue tooth and listen to books walking, riding my bike and walking in to work from parking garage.... albeit the "back way!!"
At first I hesitated after reading the reviews but I have actually listened to parts of all the books again since I basically Rushed through them... anticipating the final ending.
I did not mind the narration and even admire her ability to vary the different characters.
Again I thought this was Pretty Woman meets Dirty Dancing with a flair of Gone With the Wind for those of us that remember that movie!
Thank you AGAIN Audible!
Anna for her strength.
I liked ALL three books. I appreciated the information provided and the vocabulary that was utilized with intonation and inflection and excellent articulation of the text.
After reading reviews I was concerned that the voice would be "too childlike" but I thoroughly enjoyed all three books and have even re-listened to most of the 3 books!
I thoroughly LOVE Audible. I have listened to more books in the past year and continue to work full time, etc. This is such an enjoyable way of using bluetooth plus iPhone and keeps me occupied on drives long and short!
I enjoyed this trilogy... And given nothing else to read, would read it again. Being from the Northwest I was glad it stayed true to the geography. It made it more interesting.
Captivating, Exciting, Thrilling
One of the most memorable moments was when Ana delivered the news that she was pregnant.
I thought she had good vocal tone and inflection during her performance.
Parts of this book made me laugh and parts made me cry.
The entire Fifty Shades story was fresh, interesting, and very entertaining! I liked the development of the characters, but some of the details I could have done without. However, I would have liked for the story of the wedding to be better detailed. Though the ending was predictable, all of the crooks and emotional turns that the story and characters underwent made it hard to stop listening and left me wanting to know more about their future together. Me personally, I think there should be at least one more Fifty Shades book told entirely from Christian's point of view!
Can't Get Enough to read
No one should enjoy this kind of writing.
I do enjoy this genre. This book was very poorly written in my opinion. No depth. Hardly no plot.
She did well with what she had to work with. I guess.
I am wondering how this series became so popular. There are better in this genre, believe me.
Entertaining Story Line.
When the Author at the very end switches to Christian Grays childhood as well as his thoughts the first time he meets Anna.
She was great.
Absolutely. I never read books like this, but I was very involved into this story.
I recommend this book to every one. Male and Female.
This book was written in a way that the story itself was so unbelievable. The characters in the book, Christian and Anna, were hollow characters with no real substance to them. The PG-13 S&M stories were enough to make me chuckle a little, but I had to force myself to finish this third book in the series. I guess I expected more from the book "everyone" is talking about. The narrator did not help the story line at all, she was really off the mark for this one.
It doesn't seem like the author has any insight at all into the psyche of a grown man who has experienced the kind of neglect and abuse described in the book. The characters did nothing to capture my interest in them as people. Too much gratuitous sex. . . The book would have been better with fewer descriptions and more into the lives of Christian and Anna and the story line. Oh well there is lots of room for improvement for the Screen Writer of this story, assuming it is on its way there. . . .
She didn't seem to have a grip on the characters either. There were many times while listening to this story where it seemed clear she was not grasping the meaning of different sentences and it was frustrating to listen to, I almost gave up on listening to her and purchased the books so I could read them myself.
I don't think I would have cut scenes so much as made them more relevant to the story. The book was written so you would look at Christian and Anna as two oversexed people who somehow manage to have lives outside of the "playroom". If I am being honest, the main reason I picked up the book is because of all the talk about the "steamy, kinky sex" in the book, and when I actually read it, I thought. . . . Really? This book seemed as though it was written by a teenager, . . . was it?
I'm all for love stories, and definitely not opposed to steamy sex scenes in books, but there was something about this story that seemed a little immature or lacking in the psychology of people and relationships and sex. Lots of room for improvement, but a good attempt.
For me it's always getting to know the characters and of course if you choose this book it's the hot and steamy stuff that makes it enjoyable.
It's hard to choose but most likely Anna. She enters the series very smart but way innocent
In the ways of love and love making. She was very rich in detail as she grew in both areas
threw out all three books. I like it!
When Anna had been kidnapped and beaten. Found the strength to get up keep her focus and shot her assauallant. With a bonus her Christian had trusted her and came to save the day!
I enjoyed the book so much with exception of a bit to much harsh language.
I can't read well and this is my 1st audible i have gone through, Loved it!
The ending could have been better!
