Right up there!
Never!! I loved this story, but I have to agree with many others that her narration is awful. I go through at least an audiobook every week, so I think I'm a good judge of this. She made Ana sound like a Valley Girl, and her male voices sound absolutely phoney and unbelievable. Lucky for her that these books are such a great read, but unfortunately she really detracts from a more enjoyable read.
One of the Best most involving books I've listed to
I'm not sure that I had a favorite character, they all play off of each other so well.
there were many favorite sceens.
I would have love to have been able to listen to it all in one sitting but time would not allow it. Although picking it up everyday was something I looked forward to.
This is a must listen, I liked it even better than book one. I love the way the story seems to just pull you in. I highly recommend that you give this one a listen.
I love to read & I love to listen to books when we travel or when I need to de stress and can listen while jogging, gardening, waiting in traffic, it just all depends on how well written the book is and equally important is the reader of the book itself.
No listening to this book was hard because the reader had a California bally girl accent with a hi note on the end of every sentence. I bought the whole Triology and only listened to the first chapter befor I couldn't take it anymore. I needed my own imagination putting voices to characters. Actually read the books non stop after making the mistake of buying the audio.
I think all 3 of the Fifty Shades Books could have been written much better by leaving out so many of the crazy sex stuff and spent more time on the stories - like the crazy girl wanting to kill him or the crazy man wanting to kill her. There were good story plots but could have had better romance without the detailed sex that seemed totally surreal.
Don't listen to this one - read it! Then you can skip pages and get back to the good parts and I don't mean the stupid red room of pain.
I am a former US Marine and electrician. I have written two books, The Sunshine Murders and My Life A Life Story Of A Man Infected. I live in North Carolina.
Maybe a more mature reader
First one Ive heard
Kinda dull, childlike voice, I though I was going to here an Oh Mah Gawd out of her...like gag me with a spoon...great book but needs a better voice for narration
I think it would be great, have to think on the stars
good book, bland reading but would be a good book to read just not audio
I read too much, like most genre, & am picky about narrators. I like strong characters, great dialogue, & quirky bits!
Reader sucks, performance sucks, erotica for junior high. Wish I had my credits and time back.
The excitement E.L James manages to develop in the story as well as the development of thee characters.
The end... EXCITING!!!
I absolutely recommend downloading it! Listened to all three within a week :)
Intense, dramatic, satisfying
That with each book of the Trilogy, the story grew more and more into an actual believeable story, with so much excitement, twists and turns, and an unpredicted beautifully transforming ending. Won't spoil it, but if you are hesitant to read the 2nd or 3rd book, just be open minded and give it a try, you won't regret it, they are so different from the 1st!
Loved all of the characters in the story, just didn't like that Becca performed them all. Would have much rather had different people read the characters instead of Becca 'throwing' her voice to make them all. This made it a little corney sometimes, and took away from the drama a bit, but as the role of Anastasia, she is spot on!
OH MY!!! Yes, I laughed, gasped, cried (sobbed too), and cheered. Every emotion you can imagine!
Looking forward to EL James rewriting this series from Christian's POV! I don't think his catch phrase will be a mild "OH MY" though!
I didn't enjoy listening to this book at all. I will probably read the book on my Kindle.
The narrator is just awful!. She reads with a Valley Girl twist, but the worst part is she makes all the men in the book sound like a Valley Boys!
Captivating! As tired as I might have been, I never fell asleep while listening. Couldn't wait to find out what would happen next.
She fit the image of Anastasia. Becca Battoe was the perfect narrator for this book.
I don't see how it would be possible to make a film of this book.
I would buy another E.L. James book, but I would NEVER buy a book read by Becca Battoe, she is horrible and painful to listen to. I finally had to buy the actual book and finish reading it, I just could not listen to her destroy it anymore.
She reads like a child and makes the male characters sounds like they are dim witted cavemen. She pauses at all the wrong times and has zero emotion in her voice. She is so bad that I would spend minutes just thinking about everything she is doing wrong, and miss out on parts of the story. I read the first book and liked it, but she ruined the second book for me. I listen to a lot of audio books and this production sounds very unprofessional.
I suggest you save your money and buy the actual book, and not the audio book. Hopefully they will rerecord them with a professional narrator.
