Although not brilliant, I felt that there was a marked improvement from the first book. An attempt at plot development at any rate. The syntax is better but the characters remain caricatures, to say the least.
I bought all three audio books as I do like to listen to books whilst traveling around. Unfortunately the narrator was dreadful and the only reasonable way to listen to this book is to listen at a faster speed. No kidding!
E L James actually could have incorporated all three books into one novel by editing out the irritating email exchanges, avoiding all the "inner goddess' garbage and reducing the amounts of sex sessions between Ana nod Christian. Such editing would leave us with a fairly readable book which still includes some elements of The Red a Room of Pain, etc.
As mentioned before,I thought this book had a better premise but, honestly, Ms. James should be given a Theasaurus for Christmas!
the first half was dreadful!! there was no plot. only semi awkward erotic writing. finally after I struggled through that part, it got good and a plot finally happened!!
