Sins of the Father is brilliant! It's one of the best books I've listened to. Archer never fails to impress, and this trilogy is my favorite of all of his epics. Alex Jennings is fantastic, and I look forward to his voice in the morning as I drive in to work.
Alex Jennings and Emilia Fox are perfect as narrators. I couldn't imagine the book read by anyone else. Love the perfect accents!
The main reaction at the end was "Really, you are going to leave us hanging like that?" I anxiously await the next novel. Hurry up, Jeffrey Archer!
Read this, just read this, or listen, as the case may be.
intriguing, good pace, great characters!
When Hugo was killed off!
both captured the essence of the characters and it was esy to distiguish cahracter "voices"
yes but since it was the full monty did not have the time
CANT' WAIT FOR BOOK 3!!!!
I really enjoyed the second book in the series. I look forward to listening to the next one when it comes out.
This story and all the inter-connected characters kept me interested from beginning to end. I'm waiting eagerly for the next book in the series.
Story winds along nicely including all the old characters from Book One. Then, like in Book One, you're definitely left hanging waiting for Book Three. Not sure what I think of an author holding the reader hostage quite so blatantly.
I am glad I listened to it, but this one was harder to get through than the first one. It seemed to drag on in parts. The first one was more of a page turner for me. I am anxious for the 3rd.
The amazing courage of Mazie
I can't wait for the next volume in this intriguing series.
No. I stopped at the second book in the series and wish I hadn't invested the time in the first place. A coming of age became a soap opera and just didn't hold my interest. The reading performance was superb, but couldn't fix the fact that I was in the wrong genre.
I love Jeffrey Archer and I loved the first Clifton novel. I was disappointed in the ending although I know there will be 3 more books. I feel that we've been treated like this is the end of a tv series for the season and they left you with a cliffhanger. I believe there could have been a more autonomous ending that would just make the reader look forward to the next book. Ken Follett wrote Fall Of Giants and had a satisfying ending although there will be 2 more books.
I believe this was a lazy ending
The performances were great. I felt the characters.
Archer delivers in his far reaching new series and leaves this listener eager for the 3rd installment. The stories told from different viewpoints is a nice touch to his mastery of weaving a believable and connective tale. I am a true fan of all his works and dearly afraid that soon I will run out.
