"ok but no ending"
Maybe if he continues with the story
No as same old same old, some die that shouldnt some live that shouldnt
"not bad, not very good"
This was a difficult one to review.
The writing was not bad, most of the characters were good people trying to do the logical thing, you come to care about some of them, especially the children; however it was boringly predictable and they abandoned the dog....shame on them.
The reader was, again, not bad but uninspiring.
Some swearing and I don’t recall any sex but I would not recommend it for anyone except perhaps someone new to the genre.
"pretty good series!"
even though I wasn't sure at first, I enjoyed all books in this series. I definitely recommend
"pretty good"
struggled a bit at the end but overall i enjoyed the story. i will be going onto book 2
"Standard Zombie Fare. With a bit of splash."
This book ( first in I believe 4 zombie novels) was pretty good and worth the credit or price. If there is a good ( even some not so good zombie novels) out there I believe I have read them. I have been a zombie fan since I was 8 and watched Romero's "Night of the Living Dead". So that will give you an idea on my reviews of Zombie novels. 👍This novel starts our pretty innocent as most do. The family camping trip to Alaska, small vignettes of what will become other major characters daily lives, etc. Then it pretty much explodes and is a back to back gore funfest from there. The premise of the outbreak is a bit confusing so I'm hoping to find out more about that in later novels. Additionally there are unanswered questions about characters listed at the beginning of the novel. Overall I enjoyed the storyline & character development. I'll be purchasing the next audiobook in the series.
"Couldn't Get Into It"
Not for me just because I couldn't get into it like other series out there. Either the plot wasn't as gripping or the characters need to be developed more. It's easy to get lost on which character is speaking and who they are
I might give this book another shot. If I still couldn't get into it then no.
It moved a bit slow. Bumped it up to 1.5x and it was fine.
Didn't make it to the end so I'm not sure.
I could have been distracted the first few times I listened but this genre has so many great series already, if you're plot isn't gripping and you can't get invested in the characters it turns into fodder. I love this genre so maybe I'm a bit critical but I'd listen to The Remaining, Morningstar, or Zombie Fallout before purchasing this story. I'll try it again and amend my review if my stance changes.
"FANTASTIC!!"
WHAT A RIDE !! Whoop Whoop!!
These books ( all 4) set the zombie bar to a whole new level!!
He's great - I enjoyed his voice!
Wow - I don't know Kleenex and bullets??
"Do Your Research!"
Do some research on the proper pronunciation of unfamiliar locations! I'm a live long Alaskan and can only assume that the narrator was intentionally trying to mispronounce things as he did on nearly every location name.
"Please do your homework!!"
Yes I would; it's a good story. That said, it's very disappointing and distracting when the narrator mispronounces several of the street and location names in Anchorage and the surrounding area. It would take a 15 minute phone call to straighten him out. I don't know if the author ever came to Anchorage, but the narrator sure hasn't!
"Run of the Mill Zombie Book"
Infection is your run of the mill Zombie book. It has a lot of flesh tearing action, but doesn’t add anything to the genre or some great character to separate itself from other zombie books. Most of the characters are pretty quick to realize what is happening which is the only way they survive, but there is nothing that draws you to these people and many of them aren’t likable. Finally the book doesn’t really resolve anything. It needs to be read as a series so you have to commit to more than one book. If you’re looking for another Zombie gore book stop here and get ready for a ride. If you’re looking for something more I would move on.
The performance on this book was better than average, but not the best I've heard.
