I really enjoyed this book, the narration was outstanding, went looking for other books that he has done. The story line was enjoyable as well. Never guessed the ending. Love books like this. Highly recommend.
I have listened to a lot of audio books and this was one of my favorites!
It was down to earth and I really enjoyed the characters.
First one I listened too. But he did an outstanding job.
There were a lot of parts but just the way they portrayed the south and the importance of family and friends.
This was an excellent "read".
I really liked the narrator; how he set the tone and setting for the book.
I've lived in the deep south, and this book captures the flavor well. Characters were well developed. Very nice mystery and romance tangled together.
I rarely give a 5 star rating but Carnal Innocence was outstanding from the storyline and characters to the fantastic narration. I was pulled into the story from the beginning and my interest was held all the way through. I loved the depth of the characters. Just when I thought I had it all figured out the story took a twist I didn't expect. Great job Nora Roberts!
Audible Addict. I listen to 2-3 books a week, depending on my schedule. I've been a member since 2008 and feel like I have a personal relationship with my I-Pod! I'm an ecclectic reader but have been hooked on "romance" (I hate that term) and paranormal books lately.
Tom Stechschulte's voice makes this audio book. His gravelly voice is perfect for the dissolute Tucker Longstreet. A very enjoyable cast of characters and a bit of a surprise ending.
After this story kept popping up on my "you might enjoy this book" list I decided to give it a try, and it just confirmed that Audible needs new a recommendation algorhythm. I disliked all of the characters, found the narration to be uneven, and even on 2x fast forward thought the book dragged and dragged. Save the credit and try something else. I will be hard pressed to listen to another Nora Roberts book after this experience.
Love to exercise while listening
The story was great. It felt real unlike some of my prior books. I found myself caught up in the story. The people. I laughed a lot and the main characters were so kind and entertaining.
I wish I could live in this town with these people. The gossip, the stories, the simple living. Loved it all.
No, but he has been my favorite narrator so far.
Can't wait to get more books from this auther and narrator.
Characters were very described.
Yes, I would have listed to this book in one sitting.
Artist living & working in the SF Bay Area
Unlike what the title might make you think - its not the typical tedious "mommy porn" romance novels as so many romance books are. This book is a unrepentant romance novel, but it also has much more interesting characters (well most, sadly not all), and a bit more dignity than a lot of its genre.
This is a good little book. It's a basic, somewhat predictable romance (sorry to say I had it all figured out in the first 15 minutes)- but its still fun and very entertaining with captivating characters that elevate this book above the normal. Its not great - but its definitely better than average and worth the read if you're looking for a romance story set in a dark murder mystery and rural southern American intrigue.
Yes. I enjoyed it.
I love her books.
Performance was good.
Love all Nora Ross books.
