more of an actual story line...the entire first book has no purpose. no action
All it was was sex...he took her virginity in a very vulgar and mean way,. She CONSTANTLY repeated her lines.
oh my...Holy S--t...Holy f--k...Holy Hell...it got old
becca did fine
anybody else notice an uncanny resemblance to twilight
Male is adopted, has a doctor as a parent, is insanely beautiful, is insantely rich, over protective and domineering.
Girl is clumbsy, average, lacks self esteem, works at a hardware store, puts up with domineering man. Comes from divorced family. Finished high school with her dad who was ex military (bellas dad was a cop)
I stopped reading after part 1-it is bad pornography and very poorly written. I found it boring. The downside to audio books is that the bad writing and editing is obvious.
My name is Mona and I am an infrequent reader. I found books on audio by accident. I am really enjoying it.
I have listened to this book 3 times already. It is a good story and the sex isn't bad either, lol. I find myself looking up some information about things in the book.
Watching Christian's shades unravel under the seemingly innocent Anna.
She does really well but sometimes I wish Christian sounded more like a man.
Yes it was.
I have read this book so much that I just can't put it down. I find something new every time.
I liked the readers enunciation and voice, which is also important in an audio selection. The reader was able to do a very crediable transition from male to the female parts.
Probably but I am curious about the balance of the triology.
I like the narrator
NO. I definetly need to take breaks
Written book, yes. Audiobook, no.
Let's be honest, the sex scenes are what we have all been reading this book for, followed closely by the giddy feeling of pretending we are this young woman being swept off her feet.
This woman knows nothing about expression, cadence, or which words to emphasize as she reads. Completely ruined the book. What idiot selected her and thought she had any talent for a book like this? She reads like she is expressing an eight year old girl, not a woman experiencing a sexual awakening.
My wife and I tried to listen to this on a road trip. We couldn't make it more than 30 minutes into the book. Simply put the narration was horrible. She sounds like a teenager reading a book in front of her class for the first time. Her diction is weird. Her delivery halting. The way she over-pronounces her "t"s and hammers all the wrong words drove us batty. We are going to read the book(s) on our Kindles and forget this ever happened. As an audio product.. this is terrible.
The fantasy, taking me to a place I would never have gone sexually...I liked too, that it was erotic, with out getting into real s & m...that I could not have endured.
The development of the relationship
I thought the performance was well done.
It made me dream!!!
Can't wait to get the next one~
Narrator to start. Better storyline altogether.
Gabra Zackman, Cynthia Halloway, Loreli King, Marguerite Gavin or Tavia Gilbert.
A couple of the S&M scenes. Way too many for audio especially with the lack of talent by the narrator.
The critics like this?!?! I should have know it would have been horrid then!! This was the Twilight series in XXX form. The narrator was as painful to listen to as the plot. It mirrored Twilight in almost every aspect but with S&M. If you are determined to explore 50 Shades then I highly recommend you purchase a hard copy to read. At least you can skim the pages because its not worth enduring the agony of this performance. I was not impressed at all. If you are a sadist looking for torture and pain this is the book for you.
I don't know if I could listen to another Becca book doing a story line such as this. I think she is great at representing a young girl/woman and their current inflections and attitudes and responses. Didn't like her at first but she got better as the book went on but I didn't think represented a good presentation of Grey.
Reformed Tom Boy
The writing was average and predictable. The imagery was cliché and the characters were flat.
Her voice was annoying. It went up like a valley girl and moaned at the end of each sentence like a teenager. What's worse, her pathetic attempt at a male voice made Grey laughable instead of sexy.
