This gal ruined this story. She was soooo bad, I can???t believe she was chosen to narrate anything much less this book - i gave up after an hour - couldn???t handle any more err???s - who say???s that in real life?? - I may read the rest.
Narrator sounded stupid trying to make a guy's voice. The overall feeling I got from the main character, Anastasia was that she was a fickle idiot that would have a nervous breakdown if the cashier let her make the decision "paper or plastic". I get that this book is about submission and dominance but for real, you could have given her a brain. Also, the constant rants and ravings over Christian being so dreamy was insanely over the top and made me feel like I was reading a 12 year old's diary, lol. Not to book for me, wasted a credit, wahhh :P
This was the most ridiculous, poorly written and narrated book I have ever listened to. It sounded like the author had a third grade education with phrases such as, "Oh my," "crap," "double crap," "holy crap," and yes, even "triple crap." I sat through the main character blushing and flushing and turning every color of the rainbow. If I had to sit through one more cliched phrase, my head would have exploded. If you want to listen to someone raising an eybrow, cocking his head, smirking, saying jeez, and the absolutely worst of all, the biting of the lip about 10 million times, then waste your money. I actually feel embarrassed for the author and editor because it's so poorly and childishly written. The sex seens are completely laughable and are the antithesis of erotic. If you want to become celibate, buy this book.
I will if I can get past this narrators voice. I don't know she just doesn't quite catch the tone of the book for me. I would also like to point out that I never write reviews..good or bad...but I have been waiting all month for my credits to get here so I can get these books but I have only have been listening for 10 mins and I still cant get past this girls voice. I am not happy. I hope that they will do a recast. That's all for now.
I love a challenge...and to get a man to change his world upside down is the ultimate challenge...Christian has so many sides to him that you could never get uninterested.
I don't know but definitely not this young lady...I am open for suggestions...
This book needs a disclaimer. "Attention Sexually inexperienced young adults - the material herein is not love, or even normal sexual behavior. There is nothing in here that you should aspire to, or even try." Book 1 is nothing but very dark porn, with somewhat of a story line . Profoundly disturbing. Moreover, the concept that an intelligent and educated young virgin, with no prior sexual comparison, pursuing such a (S&M) relationship, is very un-nerving and quite frankly, ridiculous (I hope). My initial thought was of other young women reading this, and thinking ... oh, ok ... this is an acceptable kind of relationship, Wow, that frightens me. This is not a book for vulnerable young adults, and I worry that the heralding of this trilogy, will make the specific s&m/dom nature of sexual content here, appear mainstream to impressionable young people.. S&M RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOT HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, AND CERTAINLY NOT LOVE! Individuals who can only find sexual gratification from this type of relationship, are severely damaged, and most probably sociopaths. Book 2 had a better story line. However, ... I got to the point, fairly quickly, where I completely glossed over the multitude of sickening move by move s&m sex scenes, in the hopes of returning to some significant story line.
sex and sex
Maybe because of sex, not her writting skills. It was vary lacking in the story.
MOVIE? RATED X? Maybe all three books could make one good movie? But, without the x rated not much of a movie.
If you want to spice it up in bed with your hunny, good listen.
more of an actual story line...the entire first book has no purpose. no action
All it was was sex...he took her virginity in a very vulgar and mean way,. She CONSTANTLY repeated her lines.
oh my...Holy S--t...Holy f--k...Holy Hell...it got old
becca did fine
anybody else notice an uncanny resemblance to twilight
Male is adopted, has a doctor as a parent, is insanely beautiful, is insantely rich, over protective and domineering.
Girl is clumbsy, average, lacks self esteem, works at a hardware store, puts up with domineering man. Comes from divorced family. Finished high school with her dad who was ex military (bellas dad was a cop)
I stopped reading after part 1-it is bad pornography and very poorly written. I found it boring. The downside to audio books is that the bad writing and editing is obvious.
My name is Mona and I am an infrequent reader. I found books on audio by accident. I am really enjoying it.
I have listened to this book 3 times already. It is a good story and the sex isn't bad either, lol. I find myself looking up some information about things in the book.
Watching Christian's shades unravel under the seemingly innocent Anna.
She does really well but sometimes I wish Christian sounded more like a man.
Yes it was.
I have read this book so much that I just can't put it down. I find something new every time.
I liked the readers enunciation and voice, which is also important in an audio selection. The reader was able to do a very crediable transition from male to the female parts.
Probably but I am curious about the balance of the triology.
I like the narrator
NO. I definetly need to take breaks
