This book had the ability to be very interesting, and even with the new narrator it was, well off somehow. The list of Holy explitives and the full description of the emails was, well filler for me, the main character had very little depth. She repeated the same 10 phrases. This could have been an awesome book because the concept is provoking, but it was poorly told.
An avid listener of audio books.
I really think the story is great. It is definitely not the type of book I would usually pick but it is tantalizing listen. I didn't mind the narration at all. I was scared to even buy the book because of the terrible reviews of the narrator. There were a few things she could have done better like making the transition between what Ana is thinking rather than saying. But it was definitely worth getting. Thankfully I saw some tv interviews with the Author that made me decide to buy it. I am looking forward to listening to the next two books.
I truly disagree with Random house decision to replace narrators, Becca Battoe's narration is very appropriate and believable with her young woman's voice.
Loved Narrator....Cannot believe they changed narrator in book two and three. I previewed the audio in book two and was truly upset therefore I chose not to purchase the next two books. New narrator sounds like a 40 year old instead of a perky twenty one year old.The individual responsible for this change needs to be fired.
The old narration sounded like a 13 year old girl that just inhaled helium. She was "chirpy" and "squeeky" and "nasally". It was the worst narration I had ever heard for the numerous audiobooks I have listened to. The new one sounds like a young woman, as it should. Much better! However the story is a joke. It is witten like a bad daytime soap opera. A 21 year old VIRGIN hooks up with a 27 year old self made multi billionaire that acts more like he is in his 50's than 20's. No 21 year old virgin that is extremely SEXUALLY REPRESSED is going to jump into the middle of a severe BDSM relationship. It is not erotica at all, if anything I would say it is a poorly written romance novel. I cannot fathom what all the buzz is surrounding this book.
Great romance story
The entire story is great, but particularly the part when the couple run into various problems and they are solved succesfully.
I cried at the end when she leaves him. Luckily I have read the following two volumes on my Kindle and know that it is not the end for them.
I loved the story line of this book. What a great story!
The most memorable was the ending....I loved it.
Not listened to any of her recordings, this is the first and it was good.
Yes, I listened to this book everywhere I went.
I had heard that this was an extremely good series before I ordered this audio book. I read the only review on the site I saw and almost didn't order it because the reviewer was so down on the narator (voice too young, etc.) Yes this narator does sound very young, however, keep in mind that the character is only 21 years old. Since I wanted to listen instead of read, I took a chance. The narators voice was a little distracting sounding more like a 12 year old, but I was able to get past that and finished the audio in less than a week leaving me waiting for more.
I am writing this in the wee hours of April 17, anxiously waiting for the next two books to come out in audio,. I will pay for book two, and on the 19th buy book three with my monthly credit. When I finish all three, I plan to listen to them all again.
This is my first venture in to this genre of books. I love them. These are not for the fanit of heart, nor are they for teenagers, but for mature adults they are some of the best books I've ever listened too.
