I really liked the story as far as the unexpected in Christian, and it was relatable on the girl's side
I really liked Christian, it was hot, such a gentleman but such a freak. Combo was alluring
all the hot steamy scene and when he tells her he's trying and was getting all into her!
Christian's perpective would be awesome, i'm onto book two!
In Anna's own words, "Oh my!" This story keeps you on the edge of what's going to happen between them next. Yes, this book has lots of Sex but there is a story there... there is growth of the characters. You find yourself really rooting for them and their growth.
The evolvement of Christian and him giving "MORE". Listen/Read the book it will make sense.
I didn't have a problem with this Narrator. I thought her voice fit Anna well and meshed with the age of Anna and a young woman living in 2011. She did well with the other characters. But this is from Anna's point of view so I thought she did just fine.
If you aren't a Twighlight fan or if the fact that this started off as a Twighlight fan fiction is putting you off... don't let it. I've read Twighlight and seen the movies (a little young for me but I had to see what the fuss was about) this book is NOTHING like Twighlight, no Twighlight vibe as far as I'm concerned. Yes, it's about a girl who's infatuated with a guy and falls for him and his "weirdness" but it's not Twighlight!!
I'm not usually into super steamy books, but a friend of mine loved this book and thought I should give it a chance. I will say that after I got used to it I did enjoy the book. It had me in tears at the end, and the story was pretty good. However it was VERY VERY STEAMY, and repetitive in spots. Although I did enjoy the story I will admit I had to roll my eyes a few times at the pillow talk, and the way the narrator mutters the word baby... it made me lol a few times. Still I will admit that as soon as it was over I was ready for the second book. Have not started it yet so I cant tell you if the rest of the series is worth listening to, but I think this book is worth the credit..
The whole concept, everything about it EVEN the first narration of the book. Then they went and remastered it and ruined it!
Christian of course... Hope they get someone right for the movie role. I could see Henry Cavill playing him or even Ian Somerholder. Someone with that general look is how i picture him.
The first time around was amazing. She sounded young and innocent and I could picture Alexis Dziena (the actress) playing her in a movie. I was so excited and was about to buy the second book when I saw they had been remastered. So, I listened to the sample. I don't think I can get into the second book as the narrarator sounds like a different person. An older person, maybe mid thirties and Ana is supposed to be 21 so this questions is hard to answer because I thought the narrarator did pretty great the first time around, but the remastered version is one of the WORST audio books ever.
If I were making a movie the tagline would be "How far would you be willing to go!"
Alexis Dziena or Emma Roberts as Ana
Henry Cavill as Christian (someone tall, dark haired, and gorgeous..Kind of a pretty boy but in a dangerous way..I picture someone that favors Matt Bomer when I read the books, but him coming out may hurt him from getting the role.)
Katie Cassidy as Kate ( I keep picturing Kate Hudson when I read the books but I think she might be too old for the role).
PLEASE fix the audio books back to the sound of the original narration so I can buy them. I prefer her young sounding. Otherwise NO WAY...Just about every comment on the second book that I looked at was the same, fix them back....
Yes, I have already listened to book 1 and book 2 again. Christian Grey's character was so deep and truly sad I felt the need to hear his story again. I definitely will listen to the 3 book series again. Christian was the most vivid character in the book.
For me, the most memorable moment was when Ana walked out.
If you can suffer through the first few chapters, the narrator's voice becomes less abrasive as the book goes on. Her male voices were atrocious, but I've listened to other books read by her that were stellar. I am unsure why she started the book out screeching like a cat.
Do not let the narrator's poor ratings deter your purchasing of this Trilogy. You will be hooked once you begin listening.
I cried during many scenes in this book. Ana would imagine Christian as a neglected child, I would cry. Christian would filet himself before Ana emotionally revealing more and more of his past, I would cry. Ana left Christian, I cried. Need I say more...
I enjoyed Book 1 & 2 very much. Book 3 could have been combined with book 2, in my opinion. If you liked this book, download J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series...
Yes, I think I would recommend because it was enjoyable. Not sure it's as bad as everyone is making it out to be. No worse than a romance novel really. I just think the subject matter may be a little more taboo. I have to say I did not re-download the book after the narrator change. I enjoyed the innocence of her voice. It fit the character, so not sure what everyone complained about!
When he pulled the tampon out of her before having sex with her.
#1 I have had my account for years this is my first NON-business book read. I am hooked. Becca Battoe was the most brilliant reader I have ever heard. I wish there was 50 more books like this. Only complaint. I have no idea what to listen to next!
OUTSTANDING! Becca made me love audio books!
Not for kids. heheheh
El James yes Becca not so much... They should had Kirsten potter read this book it would have been amazing!!!!!
The sentencess were at spaced I feel like a child was reading this book and we tone hardly changes.
Def super hot story lined! I learned a lot!!
The narrator is annoying to listen to. Her choice for Ana is a bit too OMG Valley Girl and she cannot seem to do a good male voice for Christian. Not sure I am going to get book two in audible if it has the same narrator.
Hot, sexy subject matter
I gave this book an honest hour, and decided that life is too short for such a garbage.I'd rather clean closets.
No, I will not read her again.
The voice is not really pleasant
It takes a special talent to turn smut into a piece of literature. This is pure garbage for a back alley publication
