I was born in 1968 long after the Kennedys left the White House. Of course, I knew of the historical events that took place but this audio book gave me a completely personal prospective and incredible appreciation for the people that lived through it. Now I understand what all the fuss was about Jackie Kennedy..
Very interesting audiobook, the last chapter is read by Mr Hill himself, his voice is beautiful and full of profound emotions he is still feeling after all these years, Mr Hill himself is now part of the history of John and Jacqueline Kennedy. Marie (France)
This is a truly wonderful book. The story is well told an Jeremy Bobbs narration was excellent.
This peek into the personal life of an amazing First Lady leaves you wanting more. This must have been very difficult for Mr Hill simply knowing how the story ends. I am now searching the Internet of the photos mentioned. I want to place them in my mind as told in the story . Thank you Mr Hill for sharing the magic.
Mr Hill shares his story in a most respectful and engaging way. I've already make several recommendation to friends who also appreciate learning of the stories and details that make our history come to life. This book has changed me, and will be remembered as a book that shares of the humanity of Mrs. Kennedy, her family, and the agents who served them with all their hearts and souls.
I was only in 4th grade when JFK was assassinated. I remember so clearly how the nation mourned and how the world stood still. This account was very touching. I am glad the author did not get into any detail about the JFK infidelities although he must have known about them. I am sure that Caroline enjoyed this. I don't know why the author blamed himself for not getting to the motorcade sooner - the President insisted on the convertible to be visibly present to the people. He truly saved Jackie by pushing her down in the car during that horrific homicide.
What a great book, Mr. Clint Hill takes you on a journey of the past. so well done it's as your there with him. you can see how he struggles with the events in Dallas still and it overwhelms him. take a journey back into time and see how events unfold through Mr. Hills eyes
