UGH. This narration was SO BAD it was distracting. At first I found myself mentally wandering off and then ripping my headphones off. When the narrator mutilated the male voice(s), which I expected to be tolerable if not likable, I developed an eye tick and the urge to stab pencils in my ears. Hoping for a seductive voice? Not with this narrator. Imagine an old & pissy Louisiana alley cat holding its breath while choking on a fur ball. Now imagine that sound as the voice of the main male character. Not sexy or good. Essentially, the narration is awful. I cant even tell you if the story is interesting after listening too half of the book (and that was only because I paid for it and FORCED myself to listen to at least half).
In fairness to the Author, who I am not familiar with, I will READ the book and put out another review and this might prove to be a whole different story, lol. I came across this book while seeking something that would "tied" (haha) me over after the awesome (and favorite) Crossfire Series (by Sylvia Day) and my ultimate fav audio Series obsessions; The Fae Series and Highlander Series (by Karen Marie Moning) & Immortals After Dark Series (by Kresley Cole).
Eve Silver "Sins of the Soul"
Will read the book - this narration was awful and I can't give a fair review on the story because of it.
I would recommend this book to a friend, if they were into this sort of thing. It wasn't the best written novel I've ever listened to but it had a strong female character (which I love) and an original storyline. Even if it was a bit far fetched and extreme at times, lol. But hey, a woman can dream.
This was my first Shayla Black novel.
I haven't listened to Lexi Maynard before.
I enjoyed this novel. The characters could have been delved into a bit deeper and the plot adjusted slightly. I wish that erotica novelists would sway from the cliché storylines a bit more. The heroine doesn't always need to be coincidentally trapped with her soon to be lover/saviour/sexual beast for the story to be exciting. Either way this novel isn't a waste of time and as a whole entertained me thoroughly.
HATE spoilers! Enjoy HOT, sexy books. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. Running out this type Audible-so on2 lighter romance/mystery :-(
The strong (yet silly) storyline beyond the sex.
Love strong, protective male characters
She is excellent and able to give each character their own "voice" - accents and all.
The story was interesting and the erotic scenes were very explicit and shocking. Kept me on my toes.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
Ms Black knows how to make the secondary male hero come to life. She makes Dyke so sweet yet very masculine so you want to order the next book.
This series is for serious romantics. enjoy
sexy hot naughty
a sense of being there
you'll just be tied up with this story
when is the next book comeing out
Yes, wonderfully wicked.
When Jack doesnt want to share.
Love the humor through out the book.
A must read...this is the first of the series so i'll definitely be getting into the others...please read about Morgan & Jack, you wont be disappointed.
Ever since reading the FSG trilogy, it's been a little hard to find books that are comparable. This book was good, but tame by comparison, though had I never read the FSG books, I would have been more shocked by this novel, but it doesn't delve into the BDSM nearly as much, so if that's what you are looking for, it's ok, but won't knock your socks off. It's good, when you need a smut book, it will do the trick. I did not care for the narrator, usually takes a couple chapters to get into a narrator or new book, but I am on the second book of this series, Decadent, and I'm just not that into her.
There was never a dull moment. It was fast paced and never slowed. It kept me on my toes the entire time.
I loved it so much I wished that it was part of a series.
I love to read and listen to erotica all types and paranormal vamps and shifters
I thought that this was a really good book my first time reading Shayla Black I can't wait to read the next one.
