This book is the best erotic thriller that I have heard - more erotic that thriller but great book non-the-less. It is intensely erotic.
Great listen, great read, good plot, intensely erotic
If it had a somewhat plausible storyline
It was just silly....funny even!
The male characters' voices
The story takes a while to get going, but it does get interesting. It was a good listen one the story developed. The narrator was just so so. Not something I would start again.
This book was EXTREMELY erotic, and interesting. However I'd say 99% of the action takes place in the character's heads. I liked that the writer took us on an emotional journey, and I liked the book in general.
I guess I just wanted more plot than this book really had. Most of the plot was just an excuse to get some people naked together, and that's fine, but if you're expecting an exciting mystery AND sex, I'm here to warn you it is mostly just sex. (Very hot kinky sex, but still, sex.)
The majority of this book is internal dialogue, angst, confusion, etc., etc. There is steaminess thrown in as well, but I found myself wanting to fast forward through all the worrying and get to some story.
Author of more than 50 novels. I read mostly romances and love adult romance erotica and historical romances set in the 1870 1880 west.
If it moved faster. There is way too much character introspection. They think and think and repeat and repeat until I wanted to scream, Just do it!!! The sex scenes were okay, but not worth the build up. I also thought the hero filming them having sex and using that to exact revenge on someone was inexcusable.
I'm listening to one of my novels next.
The performance was good. I wasn't crazy about the Creole accent, but it was passable.
I really disagree with the positive reviews of this book. First of all, the narrator's attempt to have a masculine tone is so laughable that alone ruined the book for me. Secondly, the story line is absolutely absurd and I was baffled the entire time.
Eh. I had wanted to read something with serious hotness in it, and while this book did eventually deliver on that score, you have to wade through a LOT of angst from the main character, which is both boring to listen to and a mood killer. It was basically like Twilight but with sex.
This was my first book by her, and it may be my last. Since these books are for grown-ups, treat the readers as such and don't spend so much time trying to convince us through the main character that the DS lifestyle is ok. Girl, if we're reading these books, we don't need convincing. Just tell the story already!
I guess. Since I found a lot of scenes drawn out by unnecessary inner dialogue, it's hard for me to say whether the narrator dragged things out, or if she was just doing a faithful job of telling the story.
Yeah, I wish it had been that good.
This book could have been SO good if so much time hadn't been spent discussing why kinky sex is ok. I really wish the author had skipped the scaredy cat routine and just gone for it. Every time the action started to get good, the author dumped a preverbial bucket of cold water on you by having the girl waffle about her actions. This is an adult erotic novel, not a YA romance. Knock it off already!
The narrator is very talented and great at creating individual characters but she couldn’t save this book. The story was quite a disappointment. There is very little in way of a plot in this book. The story is loosely tied together in order to create scenarios for all the formulaic sex scenes. The lead character is wishy-washy in her thoughts and the pacing of the story is distractingly unrealistic.I knew what type of book I was buying when I made my selection. However, I had hoped it would at least have a well thought out plot and a somewhat realistic relationship to base the steamy sex scenes. I did not finish is this book.
Don't bother with this one, I wish I hadn't. If you are running for your life from a crazy stalker who has shot at you....well, I think that would be the top priority... NOT sex with a stranger! This was just to silly for me.
