I enjoy Nora Roberts' books, and I think this is one of her better stories. You almost get two stories in one book because of the prologue, but it all weaves together very well.
I do admit I skip the sexual encounters - not my cup of tea. The other thing that bothers me is the pretty constant cussing - I can't skip over that since I don't know when it's coming.
The reader was very good. I could keep all of the characters straight, which sometimes isn't so easy with other readers.
I liked the story, I liked the characters. I think it would have been an enjoyable and entertaining book if I had been able to endure the profanity.
the story was great. but it ended too perfectly. the story itself seems unfinished. there were so much more that could have been told. the main characters themselves seems one dimensional and without flaws
Love Crime books! Lee Child, Karen Slaughter, Mark Greaney, Greg Iles, Michael Connely, Lisa Gardner, Patricia Cornwell
what a great book, had me wired. I couldn't drift off to sleep like I usually do.
It was difficult to put down from the beginning. The story unfolds wonderfully, answering lingering questions as it progresses. There is a twist at the end that makes you catch your breath and breaks your heart for an instant... but then it picks you up and you will give a sigh of relief. Love the narration and character portrayal through the performances. Heard the book in its entirety twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.
