Great story, I couldn't put it down. Julia Whelan did a fantastic job with the young Elizabeth and the grown. Definatly a must read!
I absolutely loved this book! I am very late to the party. Apparently Nora Roberts has a huge fan following and has had it for some time. I'm not sure where I've been but this is only my second book from her and the first was just finished a week ago.
The story was sweet, and intelligent enough not to be "mushy". Can't wait to finish this review so that I can move on to my next Roberts' book.
You know a book is good when you sit in your car after you park, so you can listen for a few more minutes.
Nora Roberts wonderfully weaves tragedy, mystery, comedy and love in this tail about a young woman who tries to take back her life after the unthinkable happens.
I really liked Brooks more than Abigail/Elizabeth. Her paranoia and fear, while founded in a good reason, got on my nerves after awhile. However, the pace and flow of the story really keep you entertained.
The narrator has a great reading style and voice differentiation. She does male and female voices without detracting from the characters.
All in all, a definite worthy read. While it is predictable, it leaves you satisfied and wanting to hear more about how Brooks and Abigail live their lives.
Julia was okay so I might try another narrated by her. Nora Robert's writing has been up and down so I would need a good deal of convincing to try another.
I probably wouldn't recommend it. It was an improvement over what she has been writing lately, but a long way to go to get back to some of her earlier writing.
Julia Whelan's narration was fine. The book's ending was predictable.
This is my first Nora Roberts book and my first time listening to Julia Whelan and am very impressed. There are no boring parts to this book and the narrator is amazing. I'll be checking to more by this author and the narrator.
This was my first audible book. I listened to sample before choosing this one and personally I recommend doing that as some voices were not ones I thought I would like to listen to for several hours. The narrator held my attention to the story and changes in characters were easy to identify.
I had to force myself to quit at the end of a chapter. It wasn't possible to stop midway through one, difficult to stop at a chapter end.
It's definitely a novel but I loved the story. I can't recount the number of books I've read by Nora Roberts but I consistently find she has done a thorough investigation of her subjects and the depth of detail keeps me coming back to her for more.
One of my favorites, I rarely give a 5 but I almost did on this one.
I coulndt wait for next scene.Had to listen to it all too fast.
Everything was perfect, story, narration and production! It was so good, I listened 2 times in a row and that's a first for me! It would make a great movie or TV show. Loved spending my credit on this, I'll listen to this one over and over.

A very good book with well drawn characters, a good mystery, and a love story with a charming likeable hero. Very few discriptions of ---broad chests, bulging pecs etc. I know I will listen to this one again.
The characters were well written and Julia Whelan did an excellent job executing the voices characters. Each character had their own voice and you forget it's the same person reading.
The whole time you are listening you are excited on what's going to happen next
She is unbelievable she has a voice for each character and gives life to them.
I just liked when Brooks comes in the picture. I like seeing how well Brooks handles situations and how he handle Abigale aka Elizabeth or Liz.
