Mom to 3 boys, full time professional. Listen to 2 books a week in my car during a long commute. On the hunt for a good, gripping read.
I suppose this is a Classic Nora Roberts formula? There is no real story. No twists, no real suspense. 12 hours of setting up the back story. I kept expecting some real action, something to read TO. But in the end it was "Heroine is running, 12 hours of why, falling in love, blam over". Boring.
What happened to the coke can with her finger prints? Couldnt the Volcovs come after her. What about them? What happened to the organization? What about Blake? All that and "...he went to jail" so anti-climactic.
Absolutely, the story was great, it was an easy/fun read. I'd even listen to it again.
Hmmm, I think when the years changed. The story flashes forward some years and it's really interesting to see the character & how she's changed as well. Very well written and well read.
Oh so much, I really enjoyed it. She gave just enough to each character that you had a better feel for them, as opposed to just having read it. I feel like she read it aloud exactly as I would have read it to myself, so that was nice. Sometimes narrators put too much into it, Julia did just perfectly.
oh gosh I have no idea….sorry
great book, easy read but keeps you interested. AND I listen to my books while running/walking…ONLY while running and walking, so I got lots of good exercise during this one cause I couldn't "put the book down" :)
To some extext; it was a little bit predictable and developed differently than i anticipated.
I loved how N.R. developed the story without the typical ways the good guys win. It held my interest from beginning to end and I hated when it ended. Very well thought out with situations that seem very relevant today. Some good suspense. If you are a N.R. fan, you will love this book. Julia Whelan did a great job of narration as well!
How the story was told from different perspectives. The suspense was just enough and keeps reader on their toes all till the end. Beautiful Story!
Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts
Oh man, YES! It was hard to stop when I needed to get out of car.
I love reading and audible is the easiest way to keep up with my voracious appetite for the written word.
This story ruined a family weekend! I was so captured by this story that I neglected my family for an entire weekend while I listened. This story was a nice mixture of intrigue and romance.
Have listened to a lot of J D R obb and enjoyed but this was the first of the Nora Roberts books I have listened to. Enjoyed as much or maybe more than JDR.
Did get caught up in the story and was "involved" before I knew it.
This is listed under my husbands name but he never listens to audible books. I'm the one that does and my name is Vicki.
this was the best nora roberts story I can remember. So many twists and turns and the narrator was the BEST! She sounds like the way I would have expected the character to be and had a way of using inflections that could be so funny when doing herself as a person with a genius IQ but no life experience, doing Brooks or any of the other unique characters in the main small town the story takes plalce in. I would recommend this story to anyone. It's got something for everyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great mystery, loved the cyber capabilities and fascinating concept of parental controls.
No idea, never read the print edition.
Again no idea, as I don't read many books of this style.
First one I've listened to by J Whelan.
This is essentially an action thriller with romance. The story is gripping and interesting. The performance was great, although I cringed a little at her male voice at times.
