I thought I'd be listening to a crime drama, and it started out great! Then it became a soap opera, with a clever ending and a sappy epilogue. I 'd think twice before trying this author again! The reader was fantastic though... Very easy to follow the characters by her voice.
Loved listening to this book! The characters are quality. The ending is almost typical, but has a great element of surprise.
How the main character triumphed. I don't want to go into details and spoil the plot.
Great voice inflection. She gave different voices for each character, makes all the difference in a good book. Narrators that are monotone, can ruin a good book.
Very interesting characters and refreshing that there was no torture, and no extreme violence. There was healthy character development and very human interactions plus just the right amount of romance and mystery. My first Nora Roberts book was a real treat!!
Not on the edge but awake and interested from a very comfortable position!
It was too sappy and not at all believable.
I would not be interested if it was.
I thought the entire thing was too mushy and maudlin.
I appear to be in a minority here, but I am truly puzzled by the positive reviews. The story is very simple and highly predictable, the characters feel very simplistic and therefore fake, and it's probably twice as long as it needs to be. Not many positives for me in this one, and I typically like these types of thrillers very much.
She started to act like she was no longer and independent female. I enjoyed the story up until this point. The end was stil good but it's annoying to listen to the heroine act foolishly sometimes.
There are only 3 things that happened in this book. In between, you just here the same story over and over and over again.
No mystery no excitement. Most boring book I've heard in a long time
Such a shame because it's narrated by my favorite narrator, only reason I finished it..
