Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
I have not read the printed version..I am now an audible addict with a sackful of books in my closet.
Love story, sexy with the usual but good ending.
I enjoyed the narration, her characters were distinct and natural, even the men.
I listened to the entire trilogy in a weekend!
Listen in order..they are all a bit unique but follow all the characters along.
Totally addicted to Audible.
I had gotten the last book of this series a few months ago and liked it but thanks to the Series Sale I was able to get the first 2 as well. When you listen to this one first and the others in order it makes them much more enjoyable. Don't get these if you are squeamish about sex scenes as they are plentiful and graphic. Otherwise enjoy!
HATE spoilers! Enjoy HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. Books outside HOT genre = books given to me to review
Much to my surprise, I loved this series.
Maron's wedding night...if you could call it a 'night'. :)
Only in this series but I look forward to anything she performs. She is exceptional.
I enjoyed Marion and her quest to please her man. This is an excellent start to the series.
Because I listened to the Outlander series (my first exposure to both historical fiction and romance) I assumed this would somehow equal Outlander in complexity and storytelling. The story was OK but formulaic. It was painful to listen to all the cliches about bodice ripping and sheaths and manhoods. The plot twists seemed thin and implausible. Based on the reviews, many many people like this book, so I guess it is a matter of taste. I would not buy other books in the series.
The narration brought the characters to life, and I couldn't stop listening to the great story. I enjoyed all the characters in the story. I love that the series will continue.
Kirsten is a wonderful narrator. I hope the next book in the series is also read by her.
Yes, I am going to listen to the next two books in this series.
The story started off very strong with a great story line and then slagged in the middle. It finally picked up again at the end. I thought there could have been more conflict between the clans which would have made the book more exciting.
I've never listen to any other books narrated by Kirsten. I think she does a fine job and I'll listen to other books narrated by her.
I thought this book had great potential with its strong start, but it seriously lagged in the middle. I thought it would have been better if the conflict would have stayed with Marin and not moved to Ewan being the target, but It's a good steamy romance with very like able characters. The plot is also good and well thought out. I just think more could have been done to make the story a little more exciting.
Say something about yourself!
Great historical series. I love the McCabe brother and how each charter stands out. In book one the story focuses how Ewan the eldest McCabe brother falls in love wit and Mairin.
The narrator did an awesome job.
Casual reader with a vivid imagination. I like authors like Anne Rice, Stephen King, Dean Kootz, Tom Clancy, etc.
Exciting, Seductive, Enveloping
I don't think I could compare it to another book. I dare say that this is the first book, besides my normal authors, that I felt was a real page turner. I loved it on its on, but if I HAD to compare it to another book, despite being two completely different schools of writing, I would have to say the Sleeping Beauty series.
I loved all the characters she played. Ms. Potter grabbed you with her Scottish accent, and made you feel like you were right there with them. I loved Calen, he is exactly what I would think a Highlander would be.
To get his revenge, he must steal her heart.
I am in love with the series so far. I love the writing, the performer, Ms. Potter, and the entire book. I am eagerly awaiting more. I <3 Highlanders.
I don't know what is it about Scottish accents, but it gets me tingling all over when I hear it and then I imagine someone like Channing Tatum as Ewan. Nice! This is a great love story. Inoccent girl who secretly has a huge dowry meets strong Laird Highlander. His brut personality scares her but she refuses to submit to his demands. She has a mind of her own and stands up to what she believes in even though it's a male dominated environment and her word doesn't go too far. With their strong personalities colliding at every turn, it's surprising to see that they come together with a understanding of love and trust. Great story! Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.
