The zombie / vampire concept Mark uses is interesting. A series about Eliza would be good.
The Undead. A regular guy become the leader of everyone he come into contact with. However, The Undead is a much better story with much more believable characters and not the stereotypical cartoon-ish ones that Mark dreams up.
He does a good job, a bit slow though. I speed up the audio.
Don't listen to this series past book 6 and expect for the story line to make sense. Mark wrote himself into a corner with Eliza and then tried to get out of it by pursuing the cause of the outbreak after she is defeated. The story should have ended with Eliza's death, so stop listening.
Yes, it was funny, self-depricating and fairly well paced. If the action gets too intense there's guaranteed humor coming.
Michael. He's the story teller, of course! The female characters are bloody useless and annoying.
I've listened to this twice and the second time around I was struck by how ... dumb the female characters are. They are useless. The dead are walking; the regular rules of society no longer apply but these women are more concerned with gossip, cigarettes and w(h)ine. And being 100% useless with guns. By the time the book ended after the 2nd listen, I would have been happy to see all of the female characters gone.
Anyone who loves a good zombie story this is it. This profoundly entertaining and witty. Absolutely love the characters and the narrator. Can't wait to move on to the rest of the series
the quality of story was there, there's parts that had me on the edge of my seat ,other parts that gave me laugher and even had me yelling at it. I found i could lose my self in this audio book. I will be looking forward to listening to the rest of the series and if it's anything like this one I'm sure I'll have a hard time putting it down.
I will be definitely buying more books by this author and by the narrator .
This has to be the greatest audiobook i have ever listened to. The story is great, and the narration is perfect. I would reccomend this book to anyone.
It is the blend of humour and the serious undertone that make this book what it is. I am extremely excited to listen to the rest of the series. Trust me if you are contemplating getting this book, stop thinking about it and just do it, you will not be dissapointed.
On a final note, i think that because the book is mostly written in the first perspective, and coupled with the references to real objects and events, it makes it a very real experience.
