I like a lot of different books, but I'm a sucker for a good love story.
This book was painful to listen too. The author assumes you are familiar and vested in the characters as if it were book 3 in a series. The story is poorly written and seems like it was a poorly translated Japanese Amine graphic novel.
Nothing by this author.
Mispronounced carotid as in carotid artery. Choppy narration difficult to tell male from female characters.
Don't know didn't make it past chapter 11.
Molly Harper is much better.
Not so much, no. It has the possibility of a good story, but author took the predictable way out by infusing so much sex that it really made the characters look weak and self-centered.
I'm not even sure what to call this genre. Fantasy porn?
Narrator was fine. Actually, her performance was better than the book itself.
If you skip past the random sex to the story itself, than it had great possibilities.
Not being much of a prude, some sex scenes are expected in this type of book. Had the characters been strongly developed, the scenes should have flowed with the book. But if a child has been kidnapped its just not likely that his parents would opt to "pass the time" waiting for the call to bang each other. If I had no idea who had my child, where he was or what could possibly be happening to him, I doubt I would think, "hey we have an hour, do me!" It just makes the male figure a weak-willed doormat, and the mother a self-involved narcissist. Disappointing way to trash such a great story line.
This was a nice light read. It held my attention. I kept wanting to listen to it. I will defiantly check out other boos from this author. i also really enjoyed the narrator.
More action and excitement. I kept trying to listen but got bored every few minutes.
That this so-called mother kept wanting to have sex with Ridge with the clock ticking on her son's life. Really? He was awfully easy for Mom to forget.
The voices sounded so similar they were hard to distinguish.
About 6 hours at the end of the book. Maybe this would have been better as a short story.
I haven't finished this book. After repeated tries, I get bored every time. But I think I will skip the next 4 hours of the book and listen to the last 30 minutes. I seriously doubt I will miss anything important. I'm already guessing the kidnapper is her ex who tried to burn her at the stake, the boy is Ridge's son, he's perfectly capable of fathering children, and the witch really isn't "bad" at all (except that she forgets her kidnapped son to have sex with Ridge).

Ahhhh, what a nice surprise. I was afraid all the vampire/witch/werewolf talk would make for a confusing universe but there really wasn't a lot of back story mixed in about them. This is the story of a drunken night in Vegas with an Elvis officiant resulting in a barely remembered marriage...fast forward 13 years and when the male lead tries to get divorced papers signed he realizes something is wrong. His estranged wife of 13 years is in a panic because her 12 year old son has been kidnapped. He knew the math added up, but also that she was in a relationship when they wed...is this his kid they are going after, if it was he would move heaven and earth to save that child, but is he his? For that matter, is SHE his?
Nice story, good characters, fast paced, I really liked it.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
This was Ok for me. It wasn't boring but it wasn't outstanding either. It would be a good one to get if it's on sale. I'd save my credit for something better.

I was not impressed.
The world in this book was not well explained in the beginning so you get well into the book before you understand some things about what's going on. The dialog was stilted, the sex scenes boring.
The narration was all but monotone too and added nothing at all to the story.
I would definitely not listen to this again, I'm tempted to write the author and narrator off totally.
I will listen to this book again. I enjoyed the story very much.
I love a happy ending!
