good performance loved sweeny and he the right guy for her and there are such people like her glad he understood loved the story
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
Not sure, I have to re-listen to book using the new speed. This has a good story line and author is one of my all time faves. This reader needs the new speed to give the full impact of author's words.
when our hero is in the apartment with 100 degrees of heat to help
Not sure, but I think this reader is AKA Susan Deneker. I have mixed feelings about her reads if this is indeed her. Susan reads the only Judith McNaught Audible has and I have grown to like it as J.M. is the best writer.
This book was very entertaining. The plot and the characters were very well developed. The ending had a very interesting twist. It was somewhat predictable but the motive and the plot behind it were well thought out.
I'm starting to like the writer's female characters. A common denominator that seems to follow in her books is that the leading lady is strong and independent. They all seem to be self-reliant. At first, I would describe the relationships that develop in the stories as being ones that involve a man "taming" the woman and forcing her into domestication. I am recanting that first initial description and revising it to "the relationships develop with men that do not stifle the independence and self-reliance but rather encourage and cultivate"
the characters did things that showed little common sense, such as letting people into the art studio knowing there's an unfinished painting of a murder. the main female character has such a goofy name that it seemed silly and a bit ridiculous for her to insist that her love call her by her last name. her cold spells she would get after painting murder scenes might have been interesting but were boring, repetitive and annoying. in these scenes Sweeney seemed whiny more than anything else. she tells the main guy she can't possible have a fling with him because he's still married and at the first cold spell she calling him over to get naked with her and warm her up. my eyes could not stop rolling. she could have simply done what she does later when he's unavailable--take a really hot bath and bundle up. I didn't enjoy this book at all. I usually enjoy Linda Howard' books but this one was too ridiculous for me.
Fantastic story-line, and I really didn't expect Margo to be the murderer! Narrators were excellent too, thanks for robbing me of sleep! - only kidding!)
Your mileage may vary
My library has so many of Linda Howard's novels, and she is one of my favorite authors. This book was new to me, but is about 15 years old. I really enjoyed it. The main characters were believable and there were a couple small surprises in the plot twists. I stayed up quite late to listen to the end of the book, which is a big thumbs up from me.
I never read the book only the audio, the beginning was a little hard to listen to but keep listing the story get really good a little predicable but very entertaining all the same.
as I said the beginning was a little hard to get through but the story did develop to be very fun and the thing with the ghosts was a nice twist.
no this was the first audio book I have listened to by Laurel Lefkow the performances was great,.
