I would recommend this book and the entire series. Each book gets better and better.
I couldn't stop listening to this book! There is murder, twists and turns, new relationships, sorrow, loss, and triumph. A great storyline.
Ron McLarty and Oragh Cassidy bring the intended personalties and expression to life.
I gripped by the recollection of the child whose parents were murdered; and how street savvy she was to aide in finding the killer.
Read these books in order. These readings should be presented in a way that the listeners will know about the series. I purchased the books out of order because I didn't know there was a series.
audio books are Theater of the Mind when done right. They lift words from a page written by an author and transport you into another world
They are the same I never like to compare as they are both great in there own forms.
The whole will Robie series which we now have 3, but also the McBride series by Andrew Peterson I would say is also very good
I have and I love them, and in this series they are at there best. I loved the voice and tone Orlagh gave Julie the 14 year old girl that witnesses here parents being killed and flees for her life. Ron does an amazing Will Robie.
I would say there were a few parts, I think Will helping Julie and some of the moments he has with here as she is trying to understand how her life was forever changed and Will trying to figure out the same in his own
A great Series by by David Baldacci Narrated by Ron McLarty , Orlagh Cassidy. Will Robie series is a must for action and thriller lovers a like
They audible experience was perfect! The female charactors were female, the male charactors were male and it was easy to get completely emmersed in the tale.
Nikki Vance, she is a cop that was completely believable, her charactor was the glue between the other two pivotal charactors (Roby and Julie) who were both extraordinary
in thier respective roles. She was the "pepper in the gumbo", by adding spice to the entire story.
I thought it was riveting.
Cant wait for the next one.
This is my first book from David Baldacci. Once I got started I couldn't put it down. I am now a huge fan!!!
The book was not your very straightforward good guy bad guy book. The bad guys were not all Arabs and the good guys all US citizens. There were people bought off on all sides and killers on all of them. The main character has some serious vulnerabilities that made him more interesting.
The narration was excellent and I liked the addition of music and just a few sound effects for realism.
The story was a bit unrealistically complex but hung together well enough not to ruin the book.
The imagination needs to stretch a lot to wrap your brain around a very absurd story. The CIA superman protagonist is much in the character of Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp or Brad Thor’s Scott Harvath. Will Robie blows bad guys away with impunity, but when confronted with an assignment that involves killing a woman he finds sheltering her young son, alarm bells ring in his conscience; something is not right. Thus begins a wild ride and an extremely convoluted plot involving his unlikely partnership with Julie, a twelve year old street-wise girl. Julie is running for her life, literally, having witnessed the murder of her parents. It’s a page turning story, but the plot so far fetched, you’ll roll your eyes. Sort of amazing that Baldacci moves from this scenario to a White House dining room assassination attempt. Personally, I enjoy the who-done-it espionage genre, but prefer story lines with more credibility. Audiobook review, about a dozen hours.
Yes. Very entertaining and suspenseful.
General Carson. Gave the army a real quality .
The bad guy going to Bulgaria in a box.
The character of John Puller is excellent. Just read Zero Day and loved it.
The Suspect due to the plot twists.
On the bus when the young girl handled her attacker.
The characters were an interesting combination.
Very good story, intriguing and well presented. While the plot is really a standard, the characters came to life as read by the narrators. No one was over the top.
When Julie realized that she had really lost her parents.
Down to earth narration. No extremes. Provides a "face and personality" to the characters.
No, but did want to return to quickly. I need a break from audio from time to time or my mind wanders.
Great start to a new series. Will look forward to other installments
Nonstop. Exciting, Unpredictable.
I had read this book and I enjoyed it even more in the audible version.
