Suspenseful story, quick pace.
Not sure about it. Did not like the combination narrators.
Not an option but it was gripping.
Not a bad story, but the sound effects have to go. I find it very difficult to immerse yourself in the story-telling when there are multiple readers and accompanying sound effects. The whole idea of reading/listening to a book is to use your imagination. Just let the reader read the story.
Julie - she shows a lot of courage considering what she has just been through.
Really dislike having 2 narrators and sound effects. The sound effects add nothing and are irritating.
Baldacci can write a good tale but this seemed more formulaic than most.
I see that his next book has the same narrators and sound effects. I won't be buying it.
I really enjoyed the narration.
The plot kept me very engaged, so much so that I was listening to the story in the car, before falling asleep at night, every chance I could find.
I like the emotion they were able to show in their characters.
As always Baldacci starts off with bang and then simply over deliver. Well I guess your can't really over deliver. I loved the weaving together of the two different tales. What an artist Baldacci is! I love the tough street kid who just wants to be normal and the even tougher assassin who seems to wish he could go back and just be normal and their inevitable bonding!
It has to be the assassin with a heart. What a wonderfully well written character!
I'm a huge David Baldacci fan so I've listen to Ron and Oriagh many times. The timbre of Ron's voice was perfect for the Camel Club series but seem a bit old for some of Baldacci's other books. However, he captures the flavor of this books spot on! I do enjoy Oriagh Cassidy too, however some times her character voices run together. I always hope that there are only about three female voices she has to do so that I won't get confused who is talking.
I would love to hear Scott Brick and Jennifer Ikeda read a David Baldacci book!!!!
David Baldacci's books are always pager turning, on the edge of your seat, nail bitter but no extreme emotion like laughing or crying.
This was one of the best audiobooks that I have listened to.
How everything comes together in the story
How much he cared for Julie
The story unfolded with a lot of twists and anticipation of the next bullets flying.
The lead was so human with his mistakes about women & superhuman in his skill set.
I did not read the print version; I have no comment.
Joe Pike/Elivs Cole. It was interesting enough to keep me listening, and didn't bog down in a bunch of details that didn't move the story along. The plot was plausible, and the action not too out of touch with reality. Baldacci handled the kid well. Her dialog and actions were on par with her age. The narrator was good. I would listen to more books with this character.
I don't have that kind of time; however, I did listen to it exclusively over a period of several days.
