This author is one of my favorites! The reading of this and the use of the different voice inflections for each character is magnificent! I highly recommend all of Richard Bards books!
This story kept me enthralled just like the first. Great storyline and action. The best highlight is the narrator...he has been the best of all the books I have listened to over the last year. He drew me in with all of his 'voices' to make my mind picture the characters...amazing.
This series is so good, I just love it. It's full of action, twists and excellent writing. I'm anxious to start the next book and see where this goes. If you haven't read or listened to these books yet, you must, go do it now, you will be in for a thrill ride. The amazing narration will keep you entertained for hours.
Narrator was fine, better than most. But this story became trite and over dramatic, the action was consistently over the top and so non stop that it became noise. It was hard to buy into the varied dramatic settings.
I enjoyed to first book, and forgave some of the silliness, but in this book the intrigue of the main character wore off and I started rooting for the book to be over.
This book was about the same as the first one in terms of suspense, interest, action, etc. Not a waste of a credit, but nothing to rave and carry on about either.
I would definitely recommend reading the books in order, though I've either forgotten parts of the first book or they weren't presented, because there are details brought out in this sequel that made me think "wait, where were they in the first book." Unfortunately, some of those details are the kinds that put me off in a book. For example, here's the protagonist with a mother and sister somewhere (again, not much detail) yet the terrorist go after the family of an ancillary character. Picky details but to me it is those details that separate an OK book from a stellar book.
But I digress. This book ends such that yet another sequel is no doubt in the making...but I suppose I'll get that one, too, as they have all been worth the credit so far.
The main character Jake has the superpower and the "get-it-done" atttitude driving the series
Hard to say! he brought all of the characters to life with his accents and tonal variation.
Looking forward to the next instalment, so hurry up.
I LOVED IT. I KEPT THINKING - HOW WILL THEY GET OUT OF THIS ?? WOW
BRAINRUSH BOOK 1 IS A MUST,
ONLY BRAINRUSH BOOK 1
YES, IT WAS HARD TO DO ANYTHING ELSE.
I have to admit a teensy part of me was worried that BRAINRUSH II wouldn't be as good, as BRAINRUSH, the first book. Well folks, worry NO MORE! Grab a parachute, floatation device, helmet, plenty of weapons, flashlight, water and MREs, for this action-packed, adrenaline laced trip.
Don't forget to immediately, put on your parachute, you'll be needing it to dodge the bad guys. I hope you aren't afraid of water and can hold your breath, for a long, LONG time! You are saving the world from the "Bad Guys" so you'll need lots of weapons, help from unlikely sources and a lot of Aussie ingenuity to save your ASSets! You may think you have a bad case of Exploding Head Syndrome, except you won't need a doctor. Richard Bard's excellent description, of the characters and NON-STOP action scenes, place you right into the middle of the excitement. Twists and turns galore, throughout the book, with an ending that surprised me!
Strap yourself in. . . and get ready for a FANTASTIC Adventure!
Great Job Richard, LOVED it, highly recommend and CAN'T wait for BRAINRUSH III!
