Author: yes...TWO Narrators? NO
The male narrator Patrick Lawlor when he gets excited sounds like the actor who plays 'Booger" in the "Revenge o the Nerds" movies, its REALLY annoying and why would you have two narrators? Just stick to one PLEASE its too darn confusing!
For me neither narrator was a good performer it really took away from the book. I guess i will have to read it because I hated both of them,
I truly enjoyed this book despite the fact it is not a genre I'm usually drawn to. The characters are engaging and the plot and story line well paced with a good balance of romance, sensuality, mystery and action. If you are a fan of Suzanne Brockmann this listen is well worth the credit.
Science Fiction people will enjoy this book - nothing like the troubleshooters series
Was not impressed
Disappointment that I spent the money/credit
There didn't seem to be a single piece of character or plot development that wasn't driven in some way way by an assault on a woman or girl. Ultimately at least 30% of this book was devoted to torture porn...
There was not a lot in the summary that suggested this would be the case.
Women, even the toughest ones were reduced to damsels in distress and every one of them had a moment of character defying stupidity.
It was easy for me to get into the story and I love the super power ideas but at times it got a bit dragged down with the personal relationships. I didn't mind the relationships but it seemed like the book was designed for everyone to fall in love which wasn't what I was expecting. A little more super action would have been good.
This is the first book of this series and I look forward to the next.
I liked that the story was action packed and there were several interlaced love stories.
Yes their performance was similar and they work well together.
The love scenes are discriptive and really got me into the book.
Absolutely! It was a really great book. Suspenseful and the most oddly done romance book that want to keep you reading and wanting more!
I liked the part in the book where Diaz and Dr. Z discover that they are sharing the same erotic dreams.
No I haven't but I thought that they did a fabulous job.
Yes, it was very hard to put it down!
I love Suzanne Brockmann and her whole SEAL team series, and now I hope here's a whole new parapsych fantasy series. Besides her amazing imagination and great story-telling skills, she does an excellent job of including same-sex LOVE scenes. I hope these will help some of those unfortunates that suffer from homophobia. Don't get me wrong, she includes plenty of non-stop action/adventure, fascinating para-psych futuristic fantasy, and plain old hetero romance, too! dsh*
tone and emphasis, plus so much of the dialogue is internal or projected thoughts, it somehow helps keep it all straight in my head.
I bought this book because it was narrated by Patrick Lawlor - and because I liked most of Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters (hey - they are mostly narrated by PL - what's not to love!) - even though I knew going in that the story/genre of this book is not my thing. Sadly, even Patrick Lawlor couldn't save the book for me. If you are into the fantasy genre of super-powers doing mind control and taking over other people's bodies, then it's probably a really great book. I'll have to get my Patrick Lawlor fix somewhere else.
