I started out listening to books for work and now have become addicted. Every where I drive is a new adventure...
I loved all the characters in the book. Diaz and Mac as partners completely balanced each other out. Diaz was intense and focused. Mac was a smart ass and worked in controlled chaos. Their leader Bach was always the embodiment of control and even temperament. All changes when one little girl needs rescued and they discover their new strengths which comes from ...
I really enjoyed the interaction of the team with the addition or Anna and Shane along with Bennett. The book is so descriptive and makes it easy for you to have a complete vision of what is occurring. You can feel all the emotions that Mac goes through and how each character has so much to gain from their new alliances. I don't think I would ever had enough of Shane and would be using every form of persuasion that Mac has at her disposal in the pursuit of MORE!
I hope that the next book focuses on Bach. I love his character and I think I understand what happened in the end ... So excited for more! Great book and excellent narration! Melanie brought Mac to life and made you feel every emotion with such intensity. Patrick was the perfect navy seal and then was able to switch the compassionate Bach making both characters completely believe able. highly recommend!
The characters in this book were so two dimensional I didn't care about them. This was basically a romance novel with a shaky sci-fi element thrown in: I don't care how "integrated" your brain is, it won't allow you to suddenly breathe fire! It wasn't that there were so many sex scenes, but that they were poorly written--Diana Gaboldon she is not--with characters repeatedly described as "so beautiful" and "ruggedly handsome", but little more. So, no, I won't be reading any other books by this author.
The Passage of Power by Robert Caro
They were fine as narrators, although Patrick Lawlor got a little over dramatic at times, probably trying to improve the story.
Well, at least I finished it.
The story is hard to listen to due to rape, torture and murder of little girls - usually enjoy Suzanne Brockmann books but the villians were just too awful.
I would buy another book but not in this series (it seems it will be a series as questions were left unanswered)
I like these 2 narrators and have enjoyed them narrating previous SB books.
I kept taking my headphones off to let the story continue without me listening - never want to hear little girls tortured and screaming.
Sexy characters and would have enjoyed this much more without all the details of the crimes being committed.
Say something about yourself!
I loved this book. It was a bit long in some places but worth it. I was a bit off on the things that happened in parts of the book. Such as graphic upsetting parts on what happened to the young girls. The graphic sex parts was fine with me as I have listened to other books by SB. I know some would find it too much. So it would be nice if audible would add something to say there is such things as graphic sex talk. Same sex love senese. So some people would know what's ahead for them. I was OK with all of it. And as always Suzanne Brockmann did not disapoint me.
One of the scariest books I've ever read. Not because of the story, which is good, but because of the setting. It takes place in a not to distance America. An America where not only are corporations people but the rulers and everything is privatized and the people are second class citizens. Something I see happening right now.
Don't start this unless you have some free time. But it's perfect if you're headed out for a long drive. I especially appreciate that she uses proper grammar!
I was looking for something different to read and this was the perfect story! Loved the paranormal touch (which I believe is very plausible) and that the story is set in the future as well. I am a big fan of dystopian future worlds and I'm always looking for the next good story to listen to. Of course the love stories were the cherry on top!
Books books books
Not at all a bad book. I don't think I've ever read anything like this. Action packed and entertaining.cover looks cheesy but not a cheesy book.
