I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and/or listening to mostly paranormal and fantasy.
Great narration. Didn't like it at first, but really grew on me. Love Ty and Zane. They are great together. The ending is really a cliff hanger which made me go and get Armed & Dangerous ASAP.
This series is a standout, not only in the m/m genre but in romance as a whole. My only problem with the series is that the last few aren't available on Audible. No reader of romance can go wrong in buying every book in this series. Compelling relationship, intriguing mystery, excellent sex. My one gripe - Crisden's Zane sometimes slides a bit into a weird vocal place. It pulls me out of the story. But otherwise, amazing.
At the Top 3 so Far with "Something Like Summer" by Jay Bell and "Hot Head" by Damon Suede.
The closest is "Hot Head".
Ty stole the show here.
The scene where the temporarily blind Zane was eavesdropping on the conversation between Ty and Nick downstairs. I was at the edge of my seat feeling what Zane must have felt regarding the true nature of Ty's and Nick's relationship. This is where I started to realize that Nick could be a threat.
I just love these books and reading about Ty and Zane's growing relationship is fabulous!
Hard to pick between the 2, but I do like the stoic Zane
Yes, not usually my favourite, but he did very well here and in Fish and Chips
Please add the rest of the books to Audible... although I have the whole series, it is always good to walk while listening to them banter.
I loved the interactions between Ty and Zane! Its great to see in every book how far their relationship has progressed. Its so typical guy. I like that we have two strong gay males instead of the typical macho/twink combo in a lot of mm books. The mystery/plot is an afterthought to me because its Ty and Zane that I'm interested in. Although this isnt blatant erotica, there is still plenty of hot, hot sex!
Yes! Ty and Zane, baby!
Yes. Its pretty much what I expected-hes good
Yes I did lots of laughing due to Ty's bluntness and there were some tears of joy and sadness
When are the next books going to audio? I really can't wait for Armed and Dangerous. It love reading but hearing the characters outloud is fun
I would absolutely recommend this to a friend, as you are able to immerse yourself in the characters from the very start. The plot is good, the characters are flawed and vulnerable, while demonstrating that they can be strong when they need to be.
Zane is my favorite character because despite his addictive personality and all the baggage he carries with him, he remains devoted to Ty and loves him regardless of what happens. He approaches things analytically and maintains a calmer demeanor, for the most part, than his partner.
Zane remains my favorite and Sean Crisden is perfect to read this series; I did not like the reader of the first two at all!
It would be Zane because I believe there is so much more to him than we've seen so far; especially where his family is concerned. I think his demons are just as scary as Ty's.
Yes, with reservation. In other words, I would try them again but I wouldn't jump at the chance. I invested a lot of emotion into this one and I was not so pleased with being left dangling in the wind, so to speak.
This one was very fleshed out. The characters felt very real. It was a bit 'too' fleshed out at times, focusing more on the scene than the characters who I was more interested in.
I have heard Sean Crisden before (on the book before this one). The book before this "fish and chips" he did well but in this book, he OWNED the characters. He was VERY good.
If the pace was a bit quicker and the ending made more sense.
Overall, I fell in the love with the characters just like other fans, but I don't need to spend so much time on what a building looks like, etc. etc. The ending was a big let down considering the build-up. The author(s) exudes intelligence in their writing. it's very well done. But there wasn't much intimacy in the 9 hours. The book is well done but the ending left little to desire. But to each is own.
This story is the 4th of the series and well worth listening to again.
Ty and Zane because both were still learning about their relationship.
I've listen to the whole series and he's done a good job for them.
A City in Peril, Two men can make a difference.
This book is the 4th i the series and leaves an open ending, which seems to unlikely of being field. One of the authors has decided to take a brake from writing.
I can't honestly say, I've only listened to the audio version. I enjoyed all four books, can't wait for the next one.
Ty & Zane I love how the two characters have developed & changed over the series so far. I find myself smiling & laughing as I listen to the book.
