Because the flow of the scriptures is interupted I am going to find another audible Book of Mormon
Love the Book of Mormon and the way it makes me feel
by reading every verse and chapter
The reader recites the chapter and verse over and over in front of every verse. Good grief. How can one follow the story with so many numbers being recited ad nausem.
Worst I have ever started to listen to.
Not a chance.
I want the story read - not a bunch of numbers!
Cut out the numbers except for the chapters. I want my money back.
Linda Smith Morse
Yes, but not scripture because of the naming of every verse. Chapter headings would be enough
The constant repeating of Chapter and Verse ruin this reading. Please will someone do a narrative of the Book of Mormon so that we can enjoy the message and not the numbers! Don't waste your money on this one. I can hardly wait until someone does the audio version so it can be enjoyed instead of causing a headache.
Every bit of the Book of Mormon is wonderful.
Sean Crisden is just fine. I like his voice and pace.
I am a Mormon. It's scripture and it's true. This presentation had no redeeming qualities but a first time listener would give this type of presentation short shrift and I wouldn't blame them one bit.
Hurry up and get the job done right!
The narrator reads the numeric reference to each verse before reading the text which breaks up each chapter so much- it really interrupts the flow. I found it so distracting I decided to return this. At least the old cd version one can still find doesn't do this.
As for the performance itself, well I was hoping it would be better than the cd version since it's newer. However it's not, it is just as mechanical and flat. It reminded me of a computer. So much for a great portable version I can listen to. I'm going to just have to stick with written text where the Book of Mormon is concerned.
I love the Book of Mormon, and wanted to listen to it on my mp3 player. BUT, the voice sounds like it comes from a computer circa 1976. Verbalizing chapter and verse is incredibly distracting. Come on, guys. You can do MUCH better than this.
There's no way that I will ever listen to this recording on audio. It is SO poorly done.
I love the Book of Mormon, but there is no way you can listen to it when the narrator states the verse before reading it. It completely ruined the flow. And not only is it stated once, but TWICE.
Don't waste your money or credits on this version of the Book of Mormon. Find an audio version where they don't label each verse, or just stick to reading it.
Only the misinformation. Should say: Translated by Joseph Smith, not written by Joseph Smith.
Released by: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, not Church of the Latter-day Saints.
The recording is flawed and does not due justice to the Written Word.
The Holy Bible. History as recorded by various prophets throughout time.
Lack of emotion, and the constant repeating of chapter and verse, for every verse.
A very bland performance.
Please re-record and release, using a professional this time. Then make it available in
whisper sink for Kindle.
it is definately the word of god
it brought me closer to god
this book was not written by joseph smith it was only translated by him thru the help of the holy ghost
Leave out the chapter and verse numbers. Really. Whoever thought this was a good idea was a complete idiot. I actually listened for 10 minutes before I realized the chapter and verse numbers were going to continue on and on and on and on and on ....
Something without any numbers in it at all. I've had a numbers overdose listening to this rubbish.
1. He read chapter and verse numbers
2. No, really, that's what he did
3. After each sentence
4. Was another number
5. Because he wanted to drive us all mad
6. Or something like that
I love numbers now! So much!
