The ending was perfect and left me begging for more.
I like how it used all of the characters mentioned from book one.
Best part was when they were killing off the Sith Lords and High Lords. How casual they were about it, like they did it every day.
Spoilers!!!!!!! When Luke promoted Jaina to Master. I was crying. I wanted to fight for them.
Marc Thompson is brilliant, they writing is great, its the star wars we all know and love. Buy it, read it, love it!
This is not really a review of this book, but I will say that if you have not read or listened this series it is worth the time and the money to get. This is more of a discussion, of names and trying hard to hold on to them. In the last part of Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse, Tenel Ka's daughter makes herself known with pomp and celebration and the announcement of her name with her sir name being Solo. I believe the writer makes a mistake in this part of the story if Tenel Ka's daughter is the heir to the throne and there is lineage to ones royal line and name then it becomes improper for her sir name to be Solo. I know everyone going to say that the Solo name is like a precious jewel and it must be kept. However if we look at from the point view of reality, for example the house of Windsor in Great Britain, is the house of Windsor because of Queen Elizabeth and not her husband whose sir name is Mountbatten or was the same. At any rate the lineage name or heir is Windsor and not some other name. Let me close by saying this, even if people find what I'm saying silly it must be remembered that Tenel Ka comes from a matriarchal society so why would any woman from such place take a man's last name, even if his name is Solo.
I WANT MORE
How all members of the Jedi played important roles vs. just focusing only on Luke.
His ability to capture each character with a different tone, you knew based on the tone which character was speaking.
Marc Thompson is a great voice actor and really tries to make each character stand on their own feet.
First off I am a big Star Wars fan. But to me this book seemed to keep going and going like there would be no end and when the end came you are like wow about time. I think they started off with an interesting concept but book after book seemed to be the same thing.
That he tries to use a different voice for each character.
No I broke it up during travel time to work.
Yes; must read for those who want to follow the continual story of Star Wars.
That the Jedi didn't seem to have it easy, yet they somehow came thru.
Always like his readings. He seems to have the spirit of the characters right on track.
High, great series with a really good ending. And one really can tell there will be future series about Jacen daughter.
When Luke learns about Jacens fall. And the calm and wisdom Luke have thru out the books even in dark times. And the underlying story about Alana and her future.
Many, but i think the story of Vestara was sad even thou she was Sith.
Jedi:Apocolypse falls in the middle of most of my reads and most of my Star Wars Novels. Whle I'm enjoying the story and performance, there is little left that is surprising.
Jaina Solo because she's always seemed the reluctant hero and the most realistic. The rest of the "standard" cast have become little more than a cliche'. My overal favorite characters have always been Boba Fett and Han Solo... Boba has had some further development in some of the series but again in this series has fallen on to the same old...
Marc Thompson is excellent and should be the Voice of Star Wars forever.
Its time for a new series... though I would like to see a greater development of the Sith Lost Tribe, without it being such a cliche of "bad guy" back stabbing. The development of the Sith in the beginning of this series was great, but their rise to power was as ridiculous as their fall was convenient.
Climax fizzled out
By 1/2 way through, the listener is thinking "That's a lot of material to wrap up, I hope they start soon."
The ending needed to have more substance than what it had. Moreover, the ending was not a fitting end to, what is otherwise, a fine series of novels. Without including spoilers the brief origins of the antagonist are quickly swept aside with a reference to an episode of the animated Clone Wars series, which is aimed at young folks and ultimately cheapens the ending.
I was left thinking; "Is that it? Did I miss a chapter? Is there another instalment coming?" Like the heading states; the ending just fizzled out. Much more focus needed to applied to the conclusion of the story.
Han Solo / Ben Skywalker
Over all the series is very enjoyable and Marc Thompson does an excellent job narrating. It's too bad the ending fizzled leaving the listener thinking they missed something.
yes. Great story to it. has lots of the main characters. and then describes the history of the force good and ties in other stories in it well.
The holy bible.
makes it easy for the professorial driver to drive a listen to a book.
i could have, but very long. Nice thought. helps pass the time on the road.
Yes because of all the special effects and voices, it helps keep characters straight
Han, always Han
I can't say every addition to this series was relivelnt to the overall story, sometimes I feel like all characters do is get positioned and there is very little story but the last two were really great and made me glad I stuck it out
