Amazing book! Looking forward to the next! The Narrator is one of my absolute favorite!!
A fresh take on paramormal story!
YES! Couldn't put it down!
Best Narrator Ive found!
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
To be perfectly honest I had mixed feelings about this book. I had trouble getting past the halfway point but after that I liked it alright. The first half of the book was very iffy for me. I really didn't like the way Jax acted at all. He was being a total jerk and not treating his mate, Kira, very well at all (both before and after he started realizing she was his mate). I almost stopped the book in disgust when Jax decided to go get laid by some other woman because he couldn't deal with the feelings building for Kira. He couldn't seem to decide if Kira was too good for him or couldn't be trusted because she's a woman and he'd been burned before. Then, when he finally changed his mind it was like magic... with no real indication of what caused the sudden turn around. One moment he's fighting it and then the next all he wants is her and is upset because she might not want him.
I liked Kira but thought she was way to easy on Jax when he was acting like a total dweeb-head. After Jax stopped being a jerk the book got better and I liked (although I can't say more than liked) the last half of the book. At the end of the first half of the book I would have given the book 2 stars at best. Because the second half was decent I'll give it 3 stars overall but that's as high as I can go. However, because of the struggle it was to get through the first half of the book I have no inclination to read any more in the series (even though this book did end in a bit of a cliff hanger).
Kirsten Potter did a wonderful job with the narration of the book. My only issue with the book was the content and not the narration.
It's on my relisten list. I enjoyed the world and charactors. I can't wait for other books in this series.
really sad that the next in the series isn't on Audible! I'm hoping that will change soon.
I have a real crazy in love relationship with books!!!
I am not sure where I stand on this book. I mean it was good but definitely not impressive. Many of the reviews I read were correct in the fact that the ending was a real cliffhanger and not in a good way. I felt like the book was missing more of a storyline, more of a bond building between the two characters. There just seemed to be a lot of sex, which I have no problem with, but somehow it didn't have much passion. I guess I have become spoiled with the passion from the NIght Huntress series. This book definitely left me feeling real mediocre and I expected so much more because I had read a few good reviews. I would not purchase a follow up unless on sale. Sighing....sorry to say.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
No Ms Potter is very good and makes our hero as Sexy as he can be. Pace of dialogue could be moved up a bit.
The Shifters were unique. I think this book needs better editing. First half outlined lots of characters for follow up books and second half had all the romance group way too close together. Something missing, but not sure what it was.
I had multiple books going at one time, but no, this book had a good story, but the pace was off some how.
this book ends and the next will continue the story. If you like series that are all linked together ie: JR Ward Brotherhood of the Dager, then this is a good start.
I bought this book yesterday afternoon and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Loved Jax and Kira. And I loved Chup-Chup and Sariel, great secondary characters. Wonderful story of betrayal, love, sex, murder and excitment throughout the book.
As always, Kirsten Potter was terrific..
Maybe I have a better ability than some to suspend disbelief, but I really enjoyed this story. Yes, the combination of SEALS/shifters/psy abilities seems a little like obvious catnip, but I guess I like catnip! Besides, if that is all that holds a book afloat, it will sink. That is not the case here: The story was good and left me wanting to know what happens in the next book. And for me, any book will sink if I do not like the characters or they are poorly developed. I thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's characters, and the supporting cast members were great! Sarial and Kalen...I really want to know what happens to them. Oh! And Kristen Potter is magnificent in everything I have heard her do so far.
Reading is a must-have ESCAPE...
Jaxon Law is a wolf shifter working for a special ops outfit who has a chance encounter with Kira Locke, a lab assistant. She suspects her employer in some kind of shady business (genetic mutation) etc. and steals vials to prove it - mind you she doesn't know what she's got nor what it will prove. She gets caught breaking in and is chased by the security. Jax saves the day when she's nearly caught. Though the premise of their chance meeting is plausible, the book skims over it leaving the reader questioning Kira's motivations/logic. There are a few other plot problems related to Kira's character, in particular, but overall it's an enjoyable read. Turns out Jax & Kira are mates and the drama ensues.
Kirsten Potter does a great job narrating.
I would rank this in the top 5, and I'm a heavy (constant) reader.
Kirsten is probably the BEST performer I've heard, to date... her inflection, pronunciation, and pace are just immaculate. I would be happy if she could go back and re-read everything I've read, and **I would re-purchase them**... I have read many books that **could** have been really wonderful.... but for the narrator. Yes, I would pay again, just to get rid of the annoyance of having someone mispronounce words, or having to stop and replay something in my head to figure out the meaning of the sentence because there's no inflection. I'm looking for more books read by Kirsten! Yay, Kirsten! lol
Very well-written, I enjoyed it very much!!
I love reading but don't have time. The audiobooks allow me to hear the books I want to read. I love audible!
Eric and Kalen...I can't read their books
Actually a good narrator
I believe the storyline was great they could have kept the sex parts and told more of the story. It truly is a great story and I wanted more. I will be reading the next two books I can't wait.
