Patricia Briggs writes of werewolves, the fey, and 'monsters' with the same precision as some writers do their own memoirs. It is never difficult to find the magical path into the world of Charles and Anna. This is a testament to her skill and talent.
Fair game is a brief commentary on some of the political realities of today, something that is usually a lot more subtle in her stories, but it made for good reading. The story made a point but falls short of sounding preachy. There were a couple of spots where Anna spent too much time mulling over the situation, but those points were brief, and gave the reader time to catch up, a place to relax.
The narrator, Holter Graham, did a very good job of conveying the story. His trace of the various speech patterns and accents found in this country added to the overall effect of the story.
Overall this is a fun read, we'll executed by all.
This book was fantastic - I didn't want to stop listening to it.
Holter Graham is an amazing Narrator.
I love Charles & Anna they are perfect for each other & never ever get boring (Graham is great at doing Charles' sexy voice) . Briggs has created an amazing world that's fun, exciting & intriguing & you can't help becoming emotionally invested in these characters lives. I definitely recommend this series for everyone!
This story about Charles and Anna is by far the best of this series. It gives me hope for future books. Holter Graham is a good narrator. While not quite as good as the Mercy Thompson books it is a worthy read (or listen.)
being dyslexic, I never read allot but I loved books...doesn't mix right? NOPE...wrong...Audible allows me to "read" at a pace that works for me and they have a great selection of books to keep me interested. I'm a fiction , sci-fi, and adventure books with strong female characters reader. I have been on a Vampire kick lately so female protags have been on my list.
Anna and Charles are once again tossed into circumstances they did not expect. As Anna works to save Charles from falling into the monster he sees himself....they both end up working to find the middle ground that will allow Charles to maintain his humanity.
once again, Anna saves Charles through the wit and courage that life has given her. Charles ends up finding a small balence in himself while others around him deal with loss and tradgedy. definitely a great read
Give me water to swim and surf in. That with a glass of white wine and the sun. That's heaven.
The experience of Charles solving the problem to find out who is trying to destroy the adhesiveness of the pack.
Charles who idolizes his wife, his mate, his Anna!
When Anna acted as backup for Charles.
Patricia Briggs is one of my all time favorite authors and this story was exceptional. Adding Holter Graham's narration to it was a delicious coating of frosting on a scrumptious dessert. This is a treat worth savoring!
I wish it addressed some of the feminist implications brought up by this story world's rules.
It was exiting and action packed.
The beginning vignette that was almost a character study of a new character was a great scene!
Yes, Holter Graham is one of the best readers out there.
Come for the urban fantasy, stay for Holter Graham's narration.
The relationship between Charles & Anna was great! I love story lines with alpha men who know how to treat their women.
The narrator really got into the story. I felt like I was there.
The relationship between the characters was really well written.
Read this book before Frost Burned of the Mercy Thompson series. The story crosses over in a big way. This book as the feel of a true mystery and I loved it.
I was cool on this "side" series to the Mercy books at first but I'm a true believer now. I love these characters just as well. Great read.
