Well rounded characters, inteligently intriguing plot. I have not read any of the other books in this series but the book really stands on its own.
The nice balance between inner conflict and external action. The smart female characters and the witty dialog.
The meeting where the FBI and werewolfs sit down to brief eachother was electric.
Patricia Briggs is now my favorite author. I have yet to read a book from her I didn't thoroughly enjoy. But this one was surprisingly the best yet.
A great Adventure with the Characters you already love
Charles of Course
all the voices are great
There are some great adventure in this book
Great addition to the series
I'm an avid audiobook listener and this book is near the top of my favorites list. I have loved this series since I first started "Cry Wolf" and I have devoured everything in the series since. I love the emotional interplay between the characters and how much they are willing to fight to overcome their personal demons in order to support their partner.
It's hard to answer this without giving spoilers, so if you don't want to know, don't read. At one point Anna is taken by a group of killers who rape and torture their victims and Charles is helpless to locate her. This capture brings back, to Anna, memories of her life in her first pack and tortures Charles with his failings.
Spoiler! I think the most moving scene was when Charles was finally able to work through his guilt and overcome the spirits that were haunting him in order to re-connect with Anna and go to her rescue.
While I didn't specifically laugh or cry, this story is powerful and emotionally gripping.
Holter Graham's narration is excellent. He does a great job giving each character a specific voice that helps to define them.
Charles and Anna are an engaging couple and you want them to find their way together. Anna has been abused in the past, but she's finding her way as a werewolf and standing up for herself with gentle support from her Charles.
Holter Graham also reads for Dark Hunter series. I really enjoy his performances. He's got the best voice in Audiobook industry in my opinion.
Yes, and I've listened to it more than once.
Patricia Briggs yes. Holter Graham: not unless the main character was Lenny from Of Mice and Men
Made sense that something would happen to give the story line an issue to resolve going forward in future books.
Charles sounded like a moron when read by Holter. As I read the books Charles never came across sounding as Holter Graham made him sound like. Holter's portrayal of the fay character who wasn't right in the head was perfect. Unfortunately, his vocalization between characters did not change. Glad I did not run into the series via Audible first. Never would have gotten into it. I am finding that if I am to start a series via Audible I need to have little reading knowledge of it prior to starting. The voice of the characters is always different when reading and I find it difficult to translate into audio unless the chosen reader matches my internal voice.
EXCELLENT. Good story, good relationship and character developement, lots of action..good set up for next book.
I love the idea of love.
The new adventures of Charles the price with his Anna.
My favorite character are Charles, Da, even if its a little bit of Sam. I cant forget Asil.
I laught and cry through out the book.
I cant wait for the next one. I would like to read more about Charles and his famaly. After all they have seen lots thought out the centuries.
This series is very good, interesting and appealing. Right off the bat I was drawn in by the storyline, anticipating the next book! Anna and Charles's struggles have been easy to relate to and as a werewolf tale is does the genre proud. If I had two wishes it would be for the next books to be released sooner and for the story length to be longer.
I love Holter Graham as a narrator! His voice is very pleasant to the ear and I have sought out other books he has narrated.
I find the story of Anna and Charles very engaging and entertaining and I am always looking forward to the next one but??? I find the extreme length of time between books disappointing. Because of this the reader risks loosing their closeness to the characters and storyline.
While this is the 3rd or 4th book in the Alpha Omega series it can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. It takes the series in a new direction. It also makes you anxious for the next installment of the Alpha Omega series. The narrator does nice job of distinguishing the characters vocally.
Yes - best story of the series so far with impacts to Mercy Thompson series.
Holter Graham did an excellent job as always in this series. A favorite narrator.
Really enjoyed this story. I love Anna & Charles and have missed them since Hunting Ground! I loved seeing Anna now with the confidence in being loved and safe and in who she is. I loved the change in the world of the wolves and the fae and can't wait to see what happens in the next Mercy book!
