Briggs clearly has a penchant for story telling. Her books deliver a solid complex story without a lot of filler and fluff. Usually the story is a super natural, science fiction, romantic thriller/mystery with plenty of comic relief. Indexing it must drive librarians buggy! With this for subject matter, Holter Graham brings the story to life. One can find oneself, virtually, tagging alone with the characters and witnessing the scenes as the story unfolds.
For me, the most memorable scene was when the prince of the Gray Lords exacted justice on the courthouse steps. It was a scene of mystical pageantry seldom attempted in written prose.
Yes. Fair Game was a story that drew you in and kept you wanting to know what they were going to do on the next page. However, that isn't how I, (we), listen to audiobooks. Each weekday evening, after we both arrive home from our work, and during our evening meal, all TVs and radios are turned off and we listen to a chapter or two of an audiobook, while we eat.
Love all of these books wish there were more and wish they were longer. I would definitely reccommend these to anyone
Yes. I've read all the books myself so, as a woman, the narration is always in a female 'voice.' I was at first surprised by the male narration but pleasantly so and then I was impressed that it enhanced the experience for me and was better for it.
It's a great one-time listen. The story is pretty good, the reading is great.
I like Charles. He's a good tough-guy character.
He really nails the characters, and conveys a lot of emotion and mood with his voice. He's one of the better readers I've followed.
I am a huge fan of Patricia Briggs books and this did not let me down. I enjoyed it and was hooked on the story. This is definitely another great series to follow.
Charles has always been dark and mysterious. There are so many facets to background that I love to explore. I had a sense of pride in Anna while reading this book. I love seeing her grow stronger.
I tend to get nervous with male narrators. Sometimes they grate on my nerves. But Holter is an awesome narrator. I was glad to heard the story from him.
I have always enjoyed Briggs but did not finish this one
JDRobb next in her death series also Lippman`s mysteries are great
yes I love his voice
I love the story between Charles and Anna
No I have not.
Parts of it were funny and parts of it were sad
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
I really like Patricia Briggs and I've enjoyed the previous books in this series. I really liked this one too! It was a good addition to the series and I found it very enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to the next installment in the series.
I will listen to just about anything with Holter Graham, but throw in the wonderful writing of Patricia Briggs and it is a sure thing! Briggs makes a world you can believe in whether with Mercy or Anna and Charles.
Charles forgiving himself was moving. We all have things that we feel are insurmountable and to get past them is an achievement.
I listened with my son to the Chronicles of Nick and loved the performance
yes, but i didn't want it to end
A Book Addict who found she could clean house and get her book fix with audio books.
This series is not my favorite from Briggs, but still good. The book and narration are good and I am glad to finally see Anna come into her own.
