The narrator did a good job. However, in a word, this book was ridiculous. I had to stop listening after about 2 hours. The plot was ridiculous, the characters were ridiculous. I could go into a lot of detail with examples of its ridiculousness but I've already wasted 2 hours on this book and I don't want to waste anymore. I never miss an Alex Cross novel and am a big fan of those....surely the guy who wrote this must be a different James Patterson.
A total book geek who wishes she had the gift of writing!!
I may have to listen to this again just to see if I can get the order of the book. Chapters were all over the place. The story line is predictable. I actually had to check to see if I had the abridged version, because I though I missed some parts. The narrator was great, but I've heard better from James Patterson.
the story line was good, loved the narration
I had an idea whom I thought was involved, but never really sure.
Reading has always been my guilty pleasure. I would take stacks of books from the library. Now I listen to Audible.
Excellent narration. The story was good and held my attention. A little brutal at times. I liked it.
I enjoyed this book very much. Several times during the book my heart was racing with the suspense. Reminded me of that movie "Taken".
If you're interested in a cheesy story line that involves a group of middle aged women who have nothing better to do than to cheat on their cheating husbands, than be my guest...this is the read for you! A string of infidelities lead to the murders of the French president and his bodyguard. But who was the murderer? Surely, a group of horny, neglected wives couldn't have murdered anyone?
Unfortunately, James Patterson and David Ellis make an attempt at what could have and should have been a great book/read/listen. A huge problem was that there are men writing in a woman's perspective. They got it all wrong. The women were very sterotypical and cliche. What makes this novel terrible is that you endure almost 10 hours of a rather flat plot along with its dry characters. There was no appeal whatsoever.
I have never read a Patterson novel before - I'm not confident that I will read another because I was so turned off by this. The narration helped me get through this listen - January LaVoy was very engaging. Unfortunately, I don't necessarily pay to hear a good narration. I also want a good story! This just did not make the cut!
OMG! I just finished listening to this today. I couldn't quit listening, no matter what I was doing. So, I pulled out my laptop and played solitaire....and kept listening. Whenever I'm in the car, going for a walk, or just playing solitaire, it's one of the best listens yet. Love you James Patterson!
lI also have audible books by Patterson on my Kindle, so I have two books going all the time. I'm addicted to reading. If you haven't listened to this one, Do it! You won't regret the length of time it takes to set the twist. Honest!
The climax. Won't tell you.
First look at Monte Carlo.
A voracious reader with varied tastes. I enjoy listening anytime I'm driving and switching to reading on my Kindle in my down time.
Whenever James Patterson teams up with another writer, it is truly hit or miss. This is definitely in the latter category. If you absolutely have nothing else to do, for instance washing your hair, go ahead and waste your time and money here. Otherwise move on!
I've listened to several books that January LaVoy has narrated and find she is consistently good. What I particularly appreciated in this narration was her wonderful French accent!
Tell us about yourself!
From start to finish the book stayed on course. Narration was perfect and that made this one enjoyable book. Highly recommended.
