gentle, human interest
The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency
No, too long for one sitting.I listen to it while walking or knitting.
I am never disappointed with AMS's stories. I do have trouble with the names and their pronunciations,, and sometimes the dialog is a bit difficult for me to follow because of that.
If they had read other titles in the series and would like more of the same.
Compares well to recent books. First one(s) best.
Narrater pretty good.
Always a good morality tale.
First book of the series, excellent. We listened to them all because we were hooked and like watching a full season of a television show, it's just fun to follow a group of characters.
Mr Smith is a good though rather formulaic writer and he has created some rather fun characters. Great before bed reading, like a warm glass of milk.
I love his stories because they are small vignettes. They are just long enough to listen to on the way to the store.
I love the woman who runs the orphange. She wants nothing for herself but has no problem wheedling people to do things for the orphans
This is a great easy listen. I love the performance. I feel like I am in Botswana whenever I listen.
I love these detective novels. They are simple lessons in life and the characters with their observations always keep you guessing. I love this author
Yes. Lisette really portrays each character very well.
Another fascinating trip back to Batswana
I turn to this series when I want to be entertained and feel like sipping bush tea and visiting a simpler time.
I love every one of these books! The stories are fun, much like Seinfeld in the way of a show about nothing but it's about everything! Real life.
What am I missing? I am 3 1/2 hours into the book and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. I think I'll stop and watch paint dry instead.
Certainly not the narration. Lisette is what makes me come back over and over.
I have listened to them all. The surprises in the character development are in the first books, I miss them. But I love the characters and particularly their conversations.
The entire color of the characters! Reading the Uncle Remus stories compared to my grandmother from Mississippi reading them to me is the same difference.
Yes. The mysteries are the least important but always hold my attention.
Listen to these books in order from the beginning to get the most out of the series.
Beautifully and eloquently narrated
No,just a pleasant read
Maybe Mme Ramotswe can run for some sort of political office
The plot;the characters and flow draws the listener into simple and pleasant life in Botswana
This book is a great continuation of the series-reminds me of all books written by the author
yes; Her perfomance draws the listener in and also heps to identify with the characters
Lisette Lecat's narration has made all of this series joyful. This one has such a fun surprise I don't want to write a spoiler review, but it was sheer genius to bring in the "guest character" so to speak.
It held all the same high standards as McCall Smith's other 12 books, with a very cool surprise that could really only be appreciated after listening to the entire series (in my opinion!)
The entrance of the special character and the way this plot line played out to the very end.
