This story revolves around a doctor whose wife died years earlier at the hand of a serial killer. But when the doctor receives an email with information only his wife could have known, the mystery begins. The story was full of great characters and the narrator was fantastic. I will say, however, that the ending totally surprised me and created questions that perhaps were answered earlier, but I just missed.
I loved the guessing twisted story line. it was a good read well worth my time and money. I like the plot twists and would recommend it to a friend
I enjoyed how loyalty played a large part among the many varied well-developed characters. The background of the character relationships is provided in fragments, just before the reader needs the information to understand the interactions that follow. Promises are kept, even when it is uncomfortable for the character.
I read the mixed reviews for this book, and almost passed it over. I'm glad that I chose to go with my gut. It is a book that I will enjoy re-reading at a later date.
Great story. I never expect too much because people tend to under or overrate these books; however, I was entertained. The plot twists are awesome. I never got bored. The narrator was not annoying, unlike some that I have recently listened to. I also enjoyed the interview with the author at the end. There were reviews regarding the investigation process and how archaic it was in the novel, but seriously, just go along with it. I would definitely recommend this to others, and I look forward to reading more of the author's work.
My hands are always busy--I'm always working on something, all day long. Audiobooks keep my mind happily occupied, thankyou Audible.
Harlan Coben is an awesome writer. He weaves warmth and a sense of tenderness into his tales of suspense/danger. He's my new favorite writer. Narration was so-so. Voice sounds too "old" for the characters in this one.
I have a love/hate relationship with books that I can't put down. I love to find them, but hate that I don't want to do anything else. This is one of those books. What else matters?
This was my first HC book. I was a touch lost at first but once I started over, I got used to the tone the narrator was using. Good book, a little surprised at the ending. All in all a good "read".
Great mystery, well developed characters. This story brings together individuals from vastly differing backgrounds and melds them carefully into one intriguing plot.
A great "who-done-it" with a satisfying ending.
Could not get past the first few chapters. I love Harlan Coben but just couldn't listen to this narrator.
