Its a love/hate thing. I love the plot line but skipped entire chapters trying to avoid the brutality. Probably missed some good stuff, but after I forced myself to listen to the first brutal scene, I couldn't do it again. Kept going to see the twists and turns. There were many and a satisfying end.
Not the best performance. The narrator didn't have a high flexibility on his character differential. The story itself was lacking, and the twist at the end doesn't make sense for the character. Seems like it was placed there last minute for a reach at a higher rating.
of course I loved the book I love all of his books. I have gotten used to the same few narrators that I love. but this narrator sounded really old. it was hard to keep in mind that back the main character was in his early thirties. the women voices sounded like a transvestite on helium. it was hard to stay in character due to the narrator of this particular book. but the book itself -the story ,The Plot, the characters -were amazing
sorry but the voice was a creepy old man throughout and a bit disturbing at times considering it's a romance novel. the female narration was hilarious. overall, the narration tainted the experience for me. wish audible allowed multiple character voices for a more "real" experience.
maybe a lifetime move, but not a blockbuster film.
This has a very compelling story and it was hard to turn off the audio book. Besides the story I really appreciate that there was no vulgar language. Thank you!!!
Definitely some holes in the plot throughout but was entertaining and suspenseful to the end.
daughter of an Oparah fan.
A great audio book for travel. I like to listen while traveling to and from work and I enjoyed the easy to listen and follow story line. Not predictable but also not so many characters that you have to concentrate.
