This is a well narrative of the 2 shows Julian Fellows did about the workings of the series. NOT want I was looking for so here goes the problem trying to get Audible to exchange. Every exchange an issue now!

It’s not really what I would call a “behind the scenes” book, it’s more like a historical overview of life in the Downton Abbey era.
There were a few behind the scenes of the TV show scoops toward the end, but it just felt like a tease; I would like to read a version that goes into more detail including casting etc. If that’s what you are in the mood for this book might let you down.
If you’re in the mood for a history lesson however, then this book is great! Since it draws on the popularity of the show and explains the parallels between the story lines and what was happening in “real life” at the time it was extremely educational. It wasn’t dry nor did it feel like a boring lesson but rather because we know and love the characters so well it was a great way to learn!
Unfortunately it did not go beyond season 2, I wanted more.
Excellent. For anyone that loves Downton Abbey the TV series and has been thrown into Downton withdrawals after the end of last season, it is a must listen. And gives great insight into the details of how the house and family would have run in that time.
While Elizabeth McGovern is likely the weakest actress on the show, but she does a good job as narrator of this book. If you are a fan of the show and want to go just a bit deeper, then this is worth your time. It explains a few things that Americans might not understand.
Can't hear you....I'm reading!!
I thought this was more stories of Downtown Abbey. It's just a run down of who and what is Downtown Abbey.
Hi all. I'm in my 50's (that's relevant, i think), and I favor fiction. I like the british sensibility, and was introduced to the Forsyte Saga through audible ... loved it! I happen to also like Chinese writers, but they are not well represented yet at audible. Looking to follow readers with similar tastes ...
i love the tv series .. the book, however, is just boring. almost any other actor on the tv version would have made a more engaging narrator. i wouldn't purchase this one.
