I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be which is not a bad thing. The concept is great, but I had a lot of questions about who/what Amelia is. Hopefully these will get answered in the next book.
I have a quilting business. Since I love to read, I cannot read a book and quilt at the same time. Now I can listen to books and quilt too.
I enjoyed this book because it had a different 'take off' than many of the other 'ghost stories' that you read.
I don't compare this too much with any others. I try to be even and individual about each book. As I said, this book had a nicely done different take off than other books I have read in this genre.
The main character....I enjoyed her very much.
I love my graveyard
I think I most enjoyed the way the author had a different take on the whole ghost story/graveyard theme. Very nicely done.
New series suggestions?
Exciting, Scary, Romantic
That would be giving away the plot.
Her voice is fantastic for the piece.
How lonely the main character was.
Great book and series.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
I don't want to love this book but I do. It is beautifully written and narrated but the story went nowhere....You can only listen to descriptive words for so long. The ghost story, the murder mystery and the love story were minor elements, I need much more. This is a Book 1 and I suppose there is a Book 2...I have yet to find, where these mysteries will be further developed. Still searching.....
The main character reminded me of a southern version of the character Hyacinth Bucket from the show "keeping up appearances" without the irony.
A better plot, a main character one would want to identify with; a reader that didn't slip into painfully sounding vocal cliches would have brought this up to a 4 or 5 star experience.
Several of the main characters could have been developed in a way that drove the story. The writing is lazy, so many lost opportunities.
Don't waste your credits on this one. Audible rec'd this for halloween. I was hoping for a good spooky story. This was lame.
The narrator did a great job with both the male and female lines.
The end, it left me wanting more.
Great narrator, held my attention, her voice did not detract from the story.
Yes, but way to long for that, but I listened every chance I could.
Love that the story takes place in the south. Narrator did an excellent job. I highly recommend.
Happiness is a good book!
You never look at grave yards the same ever again. This story makes you believe that it's possible that maybe there are people who talk to the dead. It would be nice to say a few things to a few of my deceased lol. I loved the reader, the story was great and the dead were awesome. While I suppose it's not meant to be scary exactly it does make you look over your shoulder a bit. House sounds, darkness & coincidences suddenly begin to mean a little bit more. Very good book.
Totally addicted! It's possible I might need Audible rehab.
The narration was lovely! The story premise was good but a little slow paced for me. I look forward to the next book in hopes that it picks up a bit.
Avid Reader when not teaching, being a Mommy, or gamer. Loves just about anything!
Creepy Southern Ghosts.
The way the author brought the beauty of the city to life along with the ghosts.
Driving Miss Daisy this is not.
Ms. Hvam did a wonderful job with the accents and narration!
