No not really
The Romanov by Massey
Narrator was on her game for the ancillary characters but Dallas was lackluster
Eve lost her sponk. She is an ordinary by the book cop.
Story was fine. Read like a mystery. The original series has changed drastically. It is like watching an ordinary cop show. Nothing special to sell it. At one point I could not wait for the next in the series. Now, well I can wait for the sale.
Nothing to separate it from other shows since Eve is no longer a Zena wounded healer cop.
I couldn';t work out the killer until they were revealed...I was so intriqued in how Dallas figures it out...Outstanding !
The whole cast, Dallas, Peabody, Rourke (ohhhh) McNab they are all brilliant.
She is as always a fantastic Dallas, but her rendition of Peabody still amazes me so different and unique. She makes the cast of characters come to life.
Reader. Painter. Newspaper columnist. Nurse. Humane Society. Lake life. Walker. Happily remarried - was a widow.
Good story in the series. Fast paced and interesting. Explores the relationships between the characters a bit more. Highly recommend this book and the entire series. This one touched on the movie industry in the future, which was interesting. Pretty mellow but a good one!
Had I known that J.D. Robb was a nom de plume for Nora Roberts, I would never have bought it. That said, the phony lingo- wrist unit for watch, blocker for pain medication, etc. is off-putting and pretentious. The narrator is good - that's about all I can say.
No. Dragged for too long.
It needed more action.
Eve and Roark.
JD Robb will always be a buy. I think this book could have been better. I love that the main characters are developing and evolving. Her place in the department needs to go to the next level.
I hope the next book will have more exciting plot. This had too many characters and I wasn't interested enough to keep up with them.
