Always in touch with my inner child. Crazy about alternate realities and science fiction. Oh , I am also pretty stoked by books where people get pregnant. Very loyal to good authors but always looking for another to add to my list
it was really tough to put this book down to go to work. This genre is right up my alley and the plot was engaging. The narrator was able to take right into this world and keep me there.
if you're in to the mystical love stories. . this is a great story. . can't wait to listen to the next book.
Book has a good premise but good grief it goes in so many circles that after awhile you want to scream. It just kept going and after hanging in there the ending is almost open ended and you either start the second book hoping to get the finish you wish was in the first book or you give up. Disappointed for sure!
Audio books are just my cup of tea!
Was excited when I saw this series on the summer sale. First three books for $3.95 each, what a deal! Purchased book one and started it right away thinking if I like it to get the others during the sale.
UGH, I don't like it.....there is something about the writing and narration that is off putting to me. The story seems shallow and the narration does not help that. Not saying the narrator is bad it's the combination maybe.
I love PNR but these dragons are not my thing. My recommendation try it only on sale.
Not bad for a PNR. The one thing that bothered me was these are supposed to be rough and tumble dragons in the middle of a war but the two main male characters referred to each other as "his best friend" about a million times. It doesn't fit.
Say something about yourself!
This book catches a hold of you quick and doesn't let go. Mist Monroe is a house call nurse practitioner who needs to visit an 8 month pregnant woman. When she gets there all heck breaks loose and she is forced to call 9-1-1. Bastion, leader of the night fury dragons knows what the problem is and rushes to get there before the rogue clan of dragons known as the razorbacks gets to these human women. The instant Bastion sees Mist it is game over, he needs her, and she's high energy of course! There is some contrived drama but it wasn't too bad.
Overall I'd have to say this book was good, solid 4 star good, but not great. Is it a shifter book....yes and no. They are dragons....who shift to appear human. Is it a vampire book....yes and no. There is no blood sucking, but they do suck energy from females, and there are high energy to low energy females out there. They call it being hungry when they need energy, oh and generally it's taken by sucking on the neck....but they don't call it being a vampire, oh and they cant go out in daylight...but still not a vampire.
The book had an interesting world, albeit the world doesn't make sense sometimes. For example....if they can see the energy of women why not sit at the mall or a train station and wait for one to walk by? There are a few of those suspend reality moments. But overall I liked the world and am continuing onto book 2.
Yes I would. This is a very good story - different than the vampires and wearwolves stories I normally read - but just as good!
I enjoyed listening to Myst's reactions about the "elven" butler. She was hilarious and he was almost believable!
I enjoyed the scene where Bastien told Myst something about herself that she didn't even know herself!
I enjoyed the entire book.
Yes...if it happens to be on sale.
I suppose. WAY too many references to specific brands. Another reviewer mentioned this; I ignored it thinking that it couldn't be that bad. But, it was incredibly annoying.
The characterization of the main character wasn't consistent. She was really attached to a baby in the beginning and was motivated by protecting that child. About a third of the way through the book, though, she never thinks about the baby again.
Ending was weird and abrupt--no actual conclusion. It didn't feel like a cliffhanger (what I assume the author was going for); it felt more like she ran out of steam and just capped it with a trite make out session.
Intrigued by minor characters who will appear in other books in the series--not so much by these characters.
I generally listen as I'm doing household chores, so, yeah, it was worth it.
Wes & Jessie
I purchased this book during a $4.95 series starter special and definitely got my money's worth. I enjoyed the characters and found the dragon species intriguing but wished the author spent more time filling in the back story of the dragon race. I also found many similarities between this story line and The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. However, Fury of Fire was not nearly as riveting as the vampire version. I am still committed to continuing with this series though, as I really do find the authors version of dragons fascinating.
