I could not shake the feeling that I already have heard part of this story - hence I find this story regurgitated. I love the Mitch Rap series and listen to every book this I have to say is the most boring one. I hope it is not a trend.
I can not say enough about George Guidall as a narrator. His voice of Mitch Rapp is exactly the portrayal of the character.
Vince Flynn delivers another great story about Mitch and his early exploits.
A must listen.
Although the ending was kind of abrupt, it was still a good listen. I really believe George Guidall is one of the best narrators. I could listen to him for hours. I listened to an earlier Mitch Rapp book narrated by someone else and it just wasn't the same.
I am hooked on my books. I love to take my camper up north and spend the weekend sitting out doors with a drink , watching my dogs
I love where this book has taken us back into the past. I am very happy to learn more about all these guys came from filling in the blanks..
Mitch as always
Night Fall by DeMille because it was a great story, held my interest through the entire book. Multiple interesting story lines that were relevant to each other without loosing the main story line. The narration was excellent.
Mr Guidall is a pleasure to listen to. He IS Mitch Rapp. When I listened to a different narrator read one of the Rapp series I was very disappointed.
I really enjoy the Rapp stories. Unfortunately it is easy to see the formula for each book. Even so this story was great. It did not drift off to fill space. I have not enjoyed a book this much in quite a while. I have about 300 books in my audible library. This is is the top 10 to 15. Thank you !
I am a big fan of Vince Flynn and Mitch Rapp therefore, it pains me to say "I waited a year for this" If you are new to the Rapp series and you started here you would become an instant fan but for those of us who have already read all the books it fell more than a little flat. The plot was a good one for Young Mitch. Having followed all the adventures of Rapp I was not that impressed and believe Flynn should 'go back to the future'. As far as Geo. Guidall, he could read the Yellow Pages of the phone book and I would listen. Seriously, Guidall has become the voice of Mitch Rapp.
Tell us about yourself!
Another Great Book
When Mitch proved to Hurly how good he was.
I have over 100 books from Audible and George Guilall is one of the best narrators I have listen to.
Yes I drive 80 miles to work one way and I found myself slowing down so that I could listen more of the book.
Can't wait for the next book
To any Mitch Rapp fan you already know his history and the fact that he's not going to be killed, or lose his job takes away from the past two novels. Rapp is the baddest of the bad when it comes to spy novels and Vince is degrading the character by going back to the beginning after so many action packed thrillers. Surely there's enough modern day material to keep him busy without reverting back to something that should have been told years ago!
Let me first say I am a Vince Flynn fan and I have read all of his works. I find Mitch Rapp an interesting character and fun to follow.
That being said, this was really what seemed to be a short story that was very long winded when it came to the telling it. This book could easily be an abridged recording and effectively told in 90 minutes or less. I am not saying it was a bad story, only that is was stretched considerably to make it a book and I find that very disappointing.
Flynn is a good writer and I have found his prior works to filled with meaningful content and short on fill. That is not the case with this book unfortunately I am very sorry to say.
Action packed thriller
The last few hours of the book were incredible. Seeing Rapp forming into the man we read about in the first ten or so books.
George Guidall is always fantastic and has become the voice of Mitch Rapp for me.
Not at all.
Another great thriller, not carrying the same punch that the past few books had, but still entertaining from start to finish.
