Bought it to listen to on car trip and I loved every minute! I had never read any of Lisa Gardner's books but went by the reviews on here. It was fun and entertaining, and I found myself not wanting to get out of the car!
It was an interesting story.
No, it was actually pretty predictable.
Finding out about the things the mother did to her kids was horrifying.
I guessed who the perpetrator was early on - but I still enjoyed the story.
I've read all of Lisa Gardner's novels and LOVE when a new one comes out. She's definitely one of my favorites! D.D. Warren is a hard cop but I've really enjoyed watching her grow into someone you would love to have on your team. I think that Kirsten Potter does such an amazing job portraying her. Whether it's more than one narrator or just her (as in this novel), the performance is always amazing. This book is so worth the price. I honestly couldn't put it down (or for audible terms, turn it off). No words for it other than fabulous!!! I can't wait for Gardner's next novel.
I live on audiobooks.
I started with this series because Anna Fields, just the best narrator in the world, narrated it. Then I was hooked and have enjoyed each book and the narrator. This last one is wonderful, full of suspense and totally engrosing. If you are looking for an engaging series with a tough & funny heroine this is it! Very well done, author & narrators!
This book will hold your interest all the way through. I have listened to it twice and enjoyed it both times.
Lisa's ability to weave a story with many twists and turns.
I am a huge fan - I've read most of her books. She can
I am not finished with the book yet, but I am totally invested in it.
So far, the beginning scenes with the insane mother and children.
Just pleasure at having found yet another
Interesting and suspenseful, she kept me guessing until the end. Outstanding storytelling, and a perfect narration for this story. I would recommend this one to anyone who can deal with this sensitive issue. It was handled well, with descriptive passages, where I could feel their pain, without being overly graphic in detail.
tie between the two sisters Charlene and Abbie
The plot kept me on the edge of my seat. I was surprised by the ending.
I am a full time grad student studying health education. Audible is with me everywhere I go and I listen as often as I can.
Did not read the print version
Lots of twists and turns, but not as edge of your seat as some of her other novels.
Although Kirsten Potter is excellent, with this book she is the voice of several different women and there was little difference in the pitch/sound of their voices. I would have to wait for a few seconds to realize which character was speaking,
No. I listen while on the road. However when I got to the last chapters, I caught myself staying up late to hear the end of the plot.
Not one of her best books, but still enjoyable. The female characters in the book are so tightly woven together, it is sometimes hard to separate them. There are far too many references to the baby and motherhood. OK, we never thought Dee Dee would step into the roll of motherhood, but she is not the only woman on the face of the earth to give birth after 40 and struggle with the balancing of work/motherhood/relationships. If the author would put all of the effort into developing the characters and less about her personal life, it would make the book more interesting. i would recommend to someone who likes Lisa Gardners books. But, if this is your first Lisa Gardner book, it might very well be your last. Love listening to Kirsten Potter
I enjoy a good mystery that can keep my guessing up until the end, and this one did that! This one grabbed my attention and had me wanting to come back and keep reading
