I am 4.5 hours into it and I just cannot get hooked. Its been 4.5 hours of set up and no real action or excitement. I am a middle school teacher and read a lot of young adult novels so maybe I have been spoiled with too many quick action, hanging by the edge of your seat books. I'm sure it gets better but I have also been saying that for the last 1.5 hours. I just can't get into it.
I don't think it is really her but more so the text that make transitions hard to follow. There are 3 different stories but initially it took a bit to figure out what story you were following.
Reading has always been my guilty pleasure. I would take stacks of books from the library. Now I listen to Audible.
Fabulous story, I couldn't put it down. As I listened questions kept popping into my head. In a paper book, I would go back for reference when I had a question but listening made my mind work harder to keep up with all of the nuances.
Just when I thought I had it figured out new information would pop up.
yes....arrival of new characters
excellent voice to listen to for an extended time
I have read all Lisa Gardner books. This book was great and it also gave me bits of information in past charecters from her other books that I wondered what happened to them. The whole time I read this book I thought the killer was someone else and at times I was a little creeped out for the craziness of someones mind but couldn't stop listening to it. I love that Detective DD Waren has become a mom in this book and finally has a life beside Boston PD.
When you figures out who Charlie's sister is.
Of course Detective DD Waren.
WE all have to die sometime, Be brave.
Why ever would I do that?
Love Lisa Gardner - except in this overly wordy book. Too bad it's not abridged.
I fell in love with Charlie and her guts.
The story kept me interested in what was really going on and who was the culprit
I think she does most of the DD Warren books that I've listened to. So of course that is DD Warren in my mind. Very easy to listen to.
Great book. What's next!?!
Was very interesting. Enjoyed every bit.
Couldn't stop listening.
Like all Kirsten Potter's books. Will read more.
I found this looking for Kirsten Potter books since I love her narration and what a score! Full of twists and turns....I was constantly saying "what about ______?" She managed to tie up every wild and crazy loose end by the end of the story.
