top of the list
I don't usually read mystery/suspense, but this was a reading group book
her tone was good, she was able to differentiate characters with her voice without sounding fake
keeps you on the edge of your seat & difficult to stop listening to it!
This is a classic case of a complex plot which cannot be sustained to a credible ending. The story was always interesting, and brought together interesting and current themes such as child abuse, Münchausen syndrome by proxy, paedophilia in younger adults and memory loss in children as a defence against abuse. This contained within a fast moving and well developed set of plotting.Yet the ending was so unrealistic and unbelievable, my enjoyment of the whole book was in the end tainted by cringing for the last hour or so.
I have listened to four or five of Lisa Garner's books. Whilst she has pushed the barrier of credibility before, I have always been able to accept the ending. This one I have not. I will try others, but I will be reluctant to do so without having read the reviews carefully.
An excellent reader who kept the story moving forward. I doubt I would have read the story to the end had I been reading the book.
Not a chance
You'll never guess
She did a fine job
I was in shock
This book was the most suspense I have come upon in quite a while. I felt a real connection with Charlie, believing hr most of the time. Suspecting her a few times also. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery with surprises. Suspense from beginning to end.
The narration was pitch perfect. Kirsten Potter portrayed the characters realistically. I had no problem distinguishing the different voices.
The story catches the reader immediately with the question. Who was this girl? What's going to happen to her? The story is told from the viewpoint of a young woman whose best friends have been murdered on the twenty-first of January one year apart, and the cop she approaches to catch her killer because she believes she will be next. The suspense builds and you can't stop listening until the explosive ending.
Kirsten has the listener completely involved in the story. She brings the characters alive.
I cared about the characters and became involved in the building tension. The ending was satisfying and answered the questions that the first chapter asked.
I loved this book.
I enjoyed this book very much. It had great twists and turns, and many unforseen events. I would recommend this book to someone that enjoys drama, crime dectective stories, etc.

The story had a couple of good twists, enjoyed the listen, will try more of her books.
I did enjoy this book overall. A few parts seemed a little drawn out and repetitive but it got more exciting about 3/4 through.
I no longer live in Worcester. I now live in Brooklyn, NY.
I like the character that DeeDee Warren has become. The plot is a little bit of a stretch but I bought into it. If another book is written in this series I will buy it.
