I struggled with this series, which was shocking considering the number of people who compared it to "The Brotherhood" series. The potential is there but this author sucks at character/plot development which totally ruined it for me. There are many details that are introduced into the storyline which raise 100 questions and yet none of the questions are EVER answered. I found that very frustrating. Overall the series is bearable. But nowhere near worthy of even being in the same conversation as the Brotherhood.
Just another great book from Lara Adrian. The narrator for this series of books is amazing.
I love this series. The series is fascinating, the characters interesting and the stories are amazing. Loved it. 😘
Say something about yourself!
I enjoyed his story of sadness, sitting on the edge of blood lust. To find that he can overcome himself and live a life of happiness.
It also closes the chapter of Dagos and gives opportunity for more directions. It will be interesting to see which direction Adrian take us.
This is the only book in this series that I have listened to. I have done the rest on ibooks. I decided to try this one on audio. I am happy I did. Hillary Huber gives the story a special feeling that I didn't get from my own reading. Well done!
Well worth the credit!
I like this series. Can't wait to read what happens next! I think the next book comes out in May 2013. Hope Audible will have it.
I would recommend this book. Great story line.
Made listening enjoyable.
Great series, recommend listening to in order.
Hillary is at the top of my favoraite Narrators list. When I'm forced to read a book in print (because it's not available on audio or I can't tolerate the narration) I find myself imagining how she'd read it. She catches all of the inflections and nuances just right. She give the characters depth and personaltity and reads the dialog like a dialog.
That it picked up where the last one left off
Couldn't choose just one
Each one better than the last this one did not dissapoint
Give me a good time travel story any day. The longer the series the better. Outlander has me hooked on time travel to old Scotland.
The story includes all the characters in the first nine books, but that's not why I call this the best of the serries. The introduction of more varieties of breed was an interesting concept. The focus of the book is about Sterling Chase and his strugles. (I've always wondered how "Harvard" went to a traditional university.) The conclusion was great. Hillary Huber was an excellent narrater too.
Chase....He has been one of my favorites since the beginning of the series because he was the most guarded and haunted.
When Chase busted through the glass at the Police Station to get to Tavia.
He rises like a Phoenix in the mist of blood and destruction....
I would recommend this series to ANYONE who loves Fantasy/Vampire books. If you do, you will fall in love with this author and narrator. It's not for the faint of heart though, the sex scenes are intense, but if you don't mind that, which I don't ;-) then ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!! I have listened to the entire series and each book is just fabulous!
