Only heard the audio version, but there were many references to descriptive pictures in the book and those would have helped.
The only way to learn this stuff is by doing and it is impossible with this format
The content was incredibly useful and accurate. I began noticing things with my teenager and a problematic co-worker right away - it became much easier for me to know how to approach them (or change the approach I started with) and when I needed to purse an issue further. I revisited some parts of the book two and three times because it was so useful.
This is more of an instructional book - not a book with a story line.
Okaaay...so the narrator has a seriously robotic voice. I thought it was being read by a computer at first. You should definitely listen to the sample before you buy this. That said - you can understand each and every word he says. The funniest part of the book is when the narrator...talking about criminals, FBI interviews, merging with other cultures of the world, etc...in his robotic voice...says "I give hugs freely!"
That two messages are being sent when someone is talking to you - physical and verbal. Once you can read the verbal you should take it as information, not as personal compliments or insults.
Some books are better on paper or Kindle--ones where you can easily skim over the padding of introduction and constant repetition of simple points. Did you know sometimes people lie with their faces?
Shorter or more details insights faster in the text.
I can't tell if the book drove the performance, so depends.
Annoyance and disappointment it wasn't edit better and more substance put it.
Cross referencing the PDF isn't always convenient, so perhaps it's better as a printed book, but I still enjoyed the audio
The book itself is ok. The style is very basic and quite repetitive but the content is actually interesting. So yes, if the topic interested me.
Change the narrator. His style is so bad that I just wanted to throw my ipod out the window. He completely detracts from the content of the book and makes it unbearable to keep on reading. I have had to move on to another book in between and then return to it in order to actually finish it.
Otherwise, the writing could be less repetitive and more to the point.
He drove me nuts as he cannot go three words without putting a pause in. This makes for terribly un-natural sentences and slow rhythm.
The content boiled down to its essential is actually very interesting. Its probably a lot more compelling when the author is actually lecturing but the content is still useful.
See a lecture, get the book but do not go for the audio-book
I found the book to be a little boring for me, however for someone who has not be learning how to read people's emotions for the last 10 years then I would recommend this book. For all you sales people, if you are having trouble reading what your client is saying without him using his words, but instead using his body languge, then you should invest in this book. Become more aware about yourself and how your reactions maybe impacting others is very valuable in all our communications.
The information was interesting, but there was too much padding... and the narration was probably the weakest I've experienced with Audible.
The PDF file (constantly referred to in the narration) needs to be included in the download.
Definitely needs a different narrator. The reading was stilted. It seemed that narrator was reading the material for the first time.
